General Presidency Unveils Largest Hajj Plan With Digital Integration
The plan introduces AI-driven services, multilingual support, and smart infrastructure to enhance the 2025 pilgrimage season. The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques has launched its most extensive operational plan in Hajj history, aiming to serve millions of pilgrims this season with a focus on digital transformation and multilingual accessibility. The plan, unveiled by Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Sudais, President of the General Presidency, centres on integrating artificial intelligence, smart systems, and targeted enrichment programmes across the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah. Designed around three guiding pillars—elevating the sanctity of the holy sites, enhancing the spiritual journey, and sharing the values of Islam globally—the plan involves 120 enrichment initiatives. Among these are 10 'smart tracks' aimed at improving the digital experience for pilgrims, alongside 50 educational and scientific programmes promoting spiritual awareness and intellectual engagement. More than 2,000 trained Saudi personnel will be deployed to assist worshippers across the holy sites, ensuring a high standard of service and logistical coordination. The plan also introduces seven specialised enrichment tracks that emphasise tolerance and moderation, with content available in multiple languages to serve the diverse global community of pilgrims.

The General Presidency of the Commission for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice launched impactful awareness programs during Ramadan. The initiatives successfully reached over 1.6 million individuals across the Kingdom. Those initiatives spanned educational tours, lectures, and digital outreach, reinforcing Islamic values during the holy month. Digital Engagement The Commission launched 52 digital exhibitions and awareness platform activations, broadening access for tech-savvy audiences. Furthermore, mobile apps and social media campaigns complemented 77 portable prayer rooms, ensuring convenience for worshippers. Over 28,000 informational panels and 2,400 booklets highlighted fasting benefits and community ethics. Additionally, field teams conducted 33,310 awareness tours and 140 lectures, fostering dialogue on Ramadan's spiritual significance. Partnerships with local leaders amplified reach, particularly in remote areas. Volunteers distributed translated materials to non-Arabic speakers, promoting inclusivity. Vision 2030 Fuels Cultural Initiatives These efforts align with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 goals to nurture societal well-being and preserve Islamic heritage. 150,000 Umrah pilgrims benefit from hair cutting service to exit from Ihram during Ramadan
Saudi Gazette report MAKKAH — As many as 150,000 Umrah pilgrims have benefited from the hair cutting service, introduced by the General Presidency for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque, to exit from Ihram during the holy month of Ramadan. The authority has launched the trial operation of the ritual of exiting from the state of Ihram after completion of Umrah rituals on the courtyard of the Grand Mosque for the first time from the first day of Ramadan. The service enables both male and female pilgrims to exit from Ihram after completing the rituals through cutting their hair at 12 designated locations opposite the Marwa area. Mobile salon units equipped with 112 personnel and fully sterilized tools are available to accommodate an increased number of pilgrims. During the last days of Ramadan, the authority, in cooperation with the relevant agencies, has made available foolproof facilities and meticulous services to enable the huge number of pilgrims and worshipers to perform their rituals in ease and comfort. The authority reported that the number of beneficiaries of the cart services during the 21 days of Ramadan reached 836,574, including 643,364 beneficiaries of the electric golf cart, 168,228 beneficiaries of the advanced paid carts, and 24,982 beneficiaries of the free manual carts.

More than 14 million worshippers at the Prophet's Mosque during the first half of Ramadan
JEDDAH, March 18: The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque has announced that the total number of worshippers at the Prophet's Mosque during the first half of Ramadan exceeded 14 million. This information was shared in the authority's statistical report on the services provided to visitors at the Prophet's Mosque during this period, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA). According to the report, 1,217,143 visitors came to greet the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his two companions. The number of permits issued for men to pray in the Rawdah Noble Sanctuary reached 223,742, while women were granted 155,630 permits. The report also highlighted the extensive distribution of iftar meals to visitors, with more than 4.5 million meals served. Additionally, the consumption of Zamzam water reached 3,650 tons, and 422 samples of the water were analyzed. Over 81,000 liters of disinfection and sterilization materials were used to maintain cleanliness and hygiene. Furthermore, the report mentioned the number of people benefiting from the various exhibitions and museums associated with the Prophet's Mosque, which exceeded 18,000 visitors. More than 51,000 individuals made use of the Prophet's Mosque Library, and nearly 84,000 people attended scientific lessons offered by the mosque. In terms of transportation services, over 250,000 visitors used the provided carts, and 50,000 chairs were made available for elderly visitors. The cart loan service benefited more than 20,000 individuals. Parking spaces around the mosque also saw a high occupancy rate, reaching 95 percent. The spatial guidance service assisted 47,761 visitors, while religious guidance services reached over 45,000 individuals. Additionally, field communication services in various languages served 22,000 visitors. Regarding prayer room occupancy, the report indicated that the prayer rooms inside the Prophet's Mosque were 93 percent occupied, while the external courtyards were more than 80 percent full. The roof of the mosque saw a 33 percent occupancy rate. This comprehensive report underscores the significant efforts made by Saudi authorities to accommodate and assist the millions of worshippers visiting the Prophet's Mosque during the holy month of Ramadan.
