Salaam Dance Rally Launches Monthly Radio Show ‘Rehla' on Radio Raheem
Cairo duo Salaam Dance Rally trace MENA's diverse sonic roots in 'Rehla', a new monthly show on Milan's Radio Raheem. May 08, 2025 Cairo-based DJ and production duo Salaam Dance Rally - made up of Mohamed Sadek and Genial, aka Mohamed Magdy - have just launched their monthly radio show, 'Rehla', on Milan's acclaimed online station, Radio Raheem. Taking place on the first Saturday of every month (19:00 CET / 20:00 Cairo Time), 'Rehla' is a sonic voyage through the deep and diverse musical heritage of the MENA region and its neighbouring cultural spaces. The name, Arabic for 'journey,' is fitting: each episode unfolds like a carefully charted route, combining two 30-minute mixes with a short narrative segment that adds historical and cultural context. From vintage cassette gems to dusty vinyl and rare digital cuts, Salaam Dance Rally digs through House, Disco, Dub, Traditional, Rock, and Electronic sounds, all filtered through the duo's unique MENA lens. Their sets connect geographies, timelines, and underground movements. Founded in 2019, Salaam Dance Rally has steadily become a sonic identity project as much as a musical one. With 'Rehla', they extend that vision to a broader, international audience, bridging the personal with the political, the regional with the universal.

Disapproval of Brazil's Lula hits highest level in his three terms
SAO PAULO (Reuters) - Approval of Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva's way of governing continues to dip, a fresh poll showed on Monday, amid high inflation levels and ahead of a 2026 presidential election in Latin America's largest economy. The Quaest poll commissioned by brokerage Genial showed that 41% of those surveyed approve of Lula's administration, down from 47% in January, while disapproval rose to 56% from 49% earlier this year. That was Lula's highest disapproval level in his three non-consecutive terms as president, Genial said.
