FCC Commissioner Simington Steps Down, Joining Starks
Two members of the Federal Communications Commission announced that they'll leave the agency this week. Democrat Geoffrey Starks, who had previously announced he was stepping down without identifying a departure date, said he will leave on Friday. Republican Nathan Simington will also depart at the end of the week.

Republican FCC commissioner Simington will step down this week
WASHINGTON, June 4 (Reuters) - Republican Federal Communications Commission member Nathan Simington said Wednesday he plans to resign this week after more than four years in office. Simington was confirmed in December 2020 to the five-member FCC after he lead a regulatory effort during President Donald Trump's first term in office seeking to rein in social media companies. Democratic FCC Commissioner Geoffrey Starks said last month he plans to step down in June.

US Federal Communications Commission member Geoffrey Starks announced his resignation from the regulatory agency, saying Tuesday he will step down this spring. The senior Democrat at the commission is planning his exit from the agency that oversees the telecom industry as its Republican chairman, Brendan Carr, goes on the offensive against media companies.
