Grubbs dealership expands with new Hyundai building

WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — The Grubbs Dealership family celebrated the opening of their new Hyundai building in Wichita Falls on Thursday, June 12. The dealership celebrated the completion of its new building on Central East Freeway with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, refreshments, live music, tours of the new facility, and gift bags for the first 100 attendees. According to George Grubbs III, the president and CEO of Grubbs, the celebration was not only about the new location, but also about being part of the community in Wichita Falls. Grubbs said seeing how many people showed up to the event was exciting and welcomed them to town. 'My family's been in the car business for 77 years,' Grubbs said. 'I'm fourth generation. We plan to be in this business for multiple generations beyond my own. We hope to bring what we've brought over the last seven years. Seven years is just a high level of customer service. And, you know, we know that we can serve this town well.' According to Grubbs, the previous Hyundai service department was with GMC, and now that Hyundai has its shop, they'll be able to service more Hyundais for those in the community. Grubbs Family acquire Foundation Auto Dealerships in Wichita Falls

WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — The Grubbs Family of Dealerships is expanding its footprint in North Texas by acquiring Foundation Auto dealerships in Wichita Falls. The move marks a significant transition for both companies, with Grubbs bringing its long-standing reputation in the automotive industry. Grubs CEO and President George Grubbs III expressed excitement, stating he believes they can lead in how they do business and serve the community better than they've served in the past. The goal is to provide new energy, new jobs and exceptional service while integrating the values that have made Grubbs successful for generations. The transition is expected to be smooth, with existing employees at Foundation dealerships retaining their positions. Company reps said customers can expect to receive improved service and support. Foundation Auto was known for its contributions to local causes, and Grubbs officials say they plan to continue fostering strong community relationships and exploring ways to give back. 'We're going to get really involved with the school system. That's something that we've always done. We haven't identified every place where we want to get involved,' Grubbs said. 'We also want to physically get involved. So, the staff will be involved in that as well. I know we do Meals on Wheels and United Way, things like that. So, we're going to identify as many areas as we can to participate in the community.' Grubbs, a family-owned business that has served Texas for 77 years, expects the transition to be seamless. Not only did they keep existing employees, but they are going to bring new jobs to the city for new employees to work the new facilities. The Hyundai facility is set to open next week, and the KIA facility is in motion. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
