Add Manchester City to the list of powerhouse soccer clubs set to descend upon Palm Beach County this summer. The Palm Beach County Sports Commission announced Monday that the reigning champions of the English Premier League will use facilities at Boca Raton's Lynn University to prepare for this summer's FIFA Club World Cup. Advertisement City, the reigning champion of the FIFA Club World Cup, joins Spanish giant Real Madrid among pro soccer clubs that will train in Palm Beach County ahead of tournament games at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens. 'This is an exciting time for North America as it prepares to host two of the world's biggest soccer events—the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup and the 2026 FIFA World Cup,' said George Linley, executive director of the Palm Beach County Sports Commission. 'As global attention turns to the United States, Florida and The Palm Beaches will proudly serve as an unrivaled sports destination, and we're thrilled to partner with FIFA and two of the game's most iconic clubs, Real Madrid and Manchester City.' The FIFA Club World Cup is an international soccer tournament with qualifying professional soccer clubs from six confederations, largely oriented around continental geography. The tournament begins with round-robin play before teams advance to a single-elimination knockout round. The Joseph R Russo Athletic Complex was home to stars like Darwin Núñez and Luis Suárez while they practiced, with the city of Palm Beach Gardens expressing their excitement on X. The city of Palm Beach Gardens' official Instagram account posted a team photo and wished the Uruguayans well in a post on June 19. "We're so proud to have hosted the Uruguay national football team at the Gardens North County District Park as they trained for the Copa America.
