Ban for drink-driver found slumped in car on side of A14 in Cambridgeshire
A drink-driver found slumped in his car after pulling over on the A14 has been banned from the roads for more than three years.
George Msipa was roused by police banging on his window after they found him with part of his Mercedes sticking out into the busy dual carriageway just outside Cambridge.
Body-cam footage shows an officer telling the 37-year-old to open the window before saying he had a "quick question" for him.
"Why are you parked on the side of the A14?" he can be heard asking at just after 7am on 1 June.
After failing to understand the officer initially, Msipa later gets out of the Mercedes to do a breath test on the side of the road at Stow cum Quy in Cambridgeshire.
His test showed he was more than twice the legal limit for alcohol - with a reading of 93 micrograms.
But after being told he was under arrest, Msipa, of Folley Road, Mildenhall, can be heard asking police: "But what have I been driving?"
He pleaded guilty to drink driving at a heading at Ipswich Magistrates' Court the next day. He was disqualified from driving for 40 months and ordered to pay a £500 fine.
PC Jack Taylor, of Cambridgeshire Police, said: 'Getting behind the wheel drunk and then deciding to park at the side of a major road was extremely dangerous and put himself, other drivers, and officers at risk."
