Without it, passengers must present a valid passport or passport card.

'A lot of people brought their passports, and so we're seeing very smooth operations,' said Thomas Carter, the TSA's Federal Security Director for New Jersey.
Georgina Alvarez arrived at Newark International Airport with her Real ID in hand. She said it took her three different appointments with the MVC to get it.
'When I finally got it, I was very excited,' said Alvarez.
Other travelers opted to use their passports.
'I didn't even bother trying to get a Real ID yet because I had my passport renewed literally within the last year or two, I would say,' said Lois Mains, who was flying from Newark to Florida.
Delays and cancellations were significantly down at Newark on Wednesday, but still remained the worst in the country.
