Veteran Germany goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger is not wasting a thought on an international or even overall retirement after the upcoming women's Euro 2025 tournament.
Berger, 34, became first choice in the national team last year and her heroics helped Germany win the bronze medal at the Paris Olympics.

She has retained her number one status for the Euros in Switzerland which the record eight-time champions Germany start on Friday against Poland, with Denmark and Sweden the other group stage opponents.
Berger said on Sunday at the German training camp that what happens afterwards has not been on her mind yet.
"I am just happy at the moment that I know I am going to the Euros. I am thinking about that, and then we will see how it continues. I haven't dealt with the issue at all," Berger said.
"Of course I must also listen to my body," she said, adding that she doesn't want to look too far ahead into the future "but rather take it day by day, and then I will decide it one day."

The next big tournament after the Euros are the 2027 World Cup in Brazil, provided Germany qualify.
Berger was the last player to arrive at the German pre-tournament camp on Friday, having played for her American club NY/NJ Gotham last Sunday. The team leaves for their Euro base camp in Zurich on Monday.
