Here Are Connie Francis' Biggest Billboard Hits
Connie Francis' legacy on Billboard's charts predates the Aug. 4, 1958, inception of the Billboard Hot 100. Once the chart originated, her dominance continued, as she scored historic No. 1s and linked a string of enduring classics. More from Billboard Jesy Nelson Gives Birth to Twins at 31 Weeks: 'Healthy and Fighting Strong' Blue Ivy's Earring Got Stuck in Beyoncé's Hair on Stage, Unbeknownst to Mom Dua Lipa Covers Daft Punk's 'Get Lucky' at Radical Optimism Tour Stop in France In spring 1958, Francis' version of 'Who's Sorry Now,' originally a hit in the 1920s, rose to No. 4 on Billboard's Top 100 chart. Upon the Hot 100's start, 'My Happiness' became the then-20-year-old's first top 10 on the ranking, reaching No. 2 in January 1959. On the Hot 100 dated June 27, 1960, Francis' 'Everybody's Somebody's Fool' hit No. 1 — becoming the list's first leader by a solo woman. That September, her 'My Heart Has a Mind of Its Own' became the third such No. 1 (after Brenda Lee's 'I'm Sorry'). By the time Francis had tallied her 15th and last Hot 100 top 10 to date, 'Vacation,' in September 1962, she boasted the most among women — with only Elvis Presley having notched more, with 16. By the end of the '60s, her top 10 haul (all on the MGM label) still stood as the best among solo women, outpaced overall only by The Beatles (30), Presley (22) and the Supremes (18). Plus, Francis led all women soloists with her three No. 1s during the '60s. A key to Francis' chart success? 'If I love the title, I always record the song,' she told Fred Bronson for The Billboard Book of Number One Hits. She shared that when 'My Heart Has a Mind of Its Own' co-writer Howard Greenfield called her to tell her the song's name, she said, ''That's a smash! Great title!' 'You haven't heard the song yet,' he said. 'Doesn't matter — it's a great title!' ' Francis additionally grew her avid fandom thanks to starring movie roles, among them 1960's Where the Boys Are. The film's title song hit No. 4 on the Hot 100 in March 1961. (Still, she confessed to Bronson, 'If you've ever seen any of my movies, you know I'm not an actress … I was amateurish. I used to keep a book of all the bad reviews because they were hilarious.') As Francis' music is being welcomed by a new generation, thanks to the TikTok-fueled virality of her 1962 deep cut 'Pretty Little Baby,' browse below her 10 biggest career hits on the Hot 100. (Notably, 'Who's Sorry Now' is not among them, since, as detailed above, its peak run occurred just before the chart began.) Connie Francis' Biggest Billboard Hits chart is based on actual performance on the weekly Hot 100 chart from its Aug. 4, 1958, inception, through May 17, 2025. Songs are ranked based on an inverse point system, with weeks at No. 1 earning the greatest value and weeks at No. 100 earning the least. Due to changes in chart methodology over the years, eras are weighted to account for different chart turnover rates over various periods. Family Guy Sends Peter to Fire Island With Cole Escola in Season 23, Among Other Shenanigans (Exclusive)
Family Guy returns to Fox on Sunday (8/7c) with a Top Gun parody, complete with an oiled-up reenactment of the movie's iconic volleyball scene — and that's just the tip of Season 23's homoerotic iceberg. Another particularly gay episode sends Peter and his friends on a dangerous sailing expedition, only for them to get shipwrecked on Fire Island. Lois annoys Peter before the trip, prompting him to wish he could live in a world of only men — and his wish is granted. More from TVLine How to Watch The Masked Singer Season 13 Online The Masked Singer Season 13 Judges 'Get Lucky' in Exclusive Premiere Sneak Peek Eagles' Super Bowl Win Delivers Record Audience of 127.7 Million; Halftime Show Also Hits All-Time High 'They don't know what Fire Island is, but they love it,' executive producer Richard Appel tells TVLine. 'We got Cole Escola from [the hit Broadway play] Oh, Mary! to play Julian, the head gay on the island who befriends them.' One person you shouldn't expect to see in Season 23 is President Donald Trump. Even though Peter briefly joined his administration for a two-part arc back in 2019, Family Guy won't be revisiting the Oval Office in his second term. 'That was an exceptional episode for us because you would think an episode about a political leader would depend on topical comedy, but we found a way to tell it where it seemed character-based and would survive a viewing five years after,' Appel explains, adding that 'coming up with another 22 minutes of original stuff about such an examined and discussed person' doesn't seem worth it. Peter will, however, make an unexpected friend in controversial Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. Appel says their bond can basically be reduced to 'I like beer!' and 'I like beer, too!' 'Kavanaugh romanticizes Peter's life as just a working stiff who gets to go to a bar all the time, so they swap places and we take Peter to the Supreme Court,' Appel says. 'That's a bit of a swing for us. This show doesn't typically do very topical stuff. We're not a late-night monologue, because it takes us more than a year [to make an episode], and it wouldn't be fresh. We'd be the 10th person to make the joke.' ‘The Masked Singer' Season 13 Premiere Sends Home Its First Competitor: And Honey Pot Is…
'The Masked Singer' kicked off lucky season 13 on Wednesday night, but of course, it wasn't so lucky for the first eliminated contestant of the season. Fitting with the theme of the season, the episode kicked off with panelists Ken Jeong, Rita Ora, Robin Thicke and Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg, along with host Nick Cannon, performing their own version of 'Get Lucky.' They were joined by last season's runner up 'Wasp,' who was revealed to be Mario. From there, we met the singers of Group A, and sadly had to say an early goodbye to one of them. And that contestant was Honey Pot. So, who was under the mask? If you're trying to avoid spoilers, the time to turn away would be now. Still with us? Great. The singer underneath the Honey Pot masked turned out to be comedian Cedric the Entertainer. And with that, the competition is well and truly underway on season 13, leaving 14 competitors remaining. As always, the Fox show will feature various theme nights, including Voices of Olympus: Unmasking the Gods, Carnival, Boy Bands, Decades and Soundtrack Of My Life. The season will also feature celebrations of 'Shrek,' 'Ghostbusters' and the 100th anniversary of The Grand Ole Opry, as well as the Rat Pack. 'The Masked Singer' airs wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET. on Fox. The post 'The Masked Singer' Season 13 Premiere Sends Home Its First Competitor: And Honey Pot Is… appeared first on TheWrap.

‘The Masked Singer': Who Is Fuzzy Peas? Rita Ora's First Guess of the Season Is …
Season 13 of 'The Masked Singer' kicks off on Wednesday, which means it is time to start making your first guesses of the season. And Rita Ora already has hers — though it may not be as well-informed as usual. In TheWrap's exclusive sneak peek at the Fox competition's season premiere, Ora admits that Fuzzy Peas' performance was 'such a sing-along, I was just dancing with Ken and I actually couldn't even focus because I was having so much fun.' So, homing in on a clue that involves a globe, Ora takes her first swing. Watch the moment below: 'Honestly, you guys might laugh, but I'm just going to go for it,' she says. 'Mario Lopez? He's a global star!' Whether or not Ora is correct remains to be seen. But worry not, just because the costume has three faces, doesn't mean it's three people standing on each other's shoulders (probably). It's just one person. In the meantime, the season premiere will feature a performance from the panelists of 'Get Lucky,' alongside some very special guests from past seasons, including last season's runner-up The Wasp (who was, of course, revealed to be Mario). Meanwhile, Group A will perform songs including 'SexyBack,' 'Just Give Me a Reason,' 'The Door,' 'La Bamba' and 'Mad World.' 'The Masked Singer' premieres on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
