Morgan Wallen Finally Addressed His Hasty ‘SNL' Exit: ‘I'd Been There All Week'

It was the quick exit heard 'round the world. Back on March 29 when he was the musical guest on Saturday Night Live, Morgan Wallen famously beat what some saw as a hasty retreat from the stage during the traditional end-of-show credit segment where the week's guest and the cast hang out trading hugs and goodbyes. After performing two songs on the Mikey Madison-hosted episode, Wallen briefly joined the cast on stage at the end of the episode, then abruptly walked off, sharing a photo on his Instagram Stories a short time later from his private plane with the caption, 'Get me to God's country' over the image of a runway; he later capitalized on the controversy by selling 'Get Me to God's Country' merch. More from Billboard Morgan Wallen Is Heading to London for a One-Night-Only Concert Justin Bieber Throws Hailey Bieber a Lavish First Mother's Day Celebration Lil Wayne Accused of Abuse After Allegedly Breaking Up With Girlfriend Denise Bidot on Mother's Day A week later, the show had some fun with the incident in a cold-open bit in which James Austin Johnson's Donald Trump took a shot at Wallen while discussing the president's 'Liberation Day' tariffs. 'I even put tariffs on an island uninhabited by humans. It's called Heard and McDonald Island,' Johnson's Trump said, holding a poster featuring a hula skirt-wearing hamburger. 'I would love to visit there. Can you imagine that? Big Mac and a hula skirt. Get me to God's country, right? Remember that?' On Sunday (May 11), Wallen appeared on comedian Caleb Pressley's podcast and the host, in a bid to show how normal the country star is noted that Wallen still cuts his own grass and takes out his trash. 'Not true,' Wallen smiled. Teasing out the joke, Pressley asked if former landscaper Wallen is good around the house fixing stuff. 'Could you fix a TV, if it was on SNL?,' Pressley asked. Wallen laughed and said, 'I could change it for sure.' 'Seriously, SNL, did they make you mad?' Pressley pressed, as the camera zoomed in faux dramatically. 'No, no, I was just ready to go home. I been there all week.' While Wallen seems to have had his fill, SNL wasn't done with the jokes. During that same April 5 episode, Weekend Update's Colin Jost poked fun at the singer in a bit about the economy. 'This was the worst week for the stock market since the summer of 2020. But you have to remember — back then, the president was also Trump,' Jost said. 'Just in the past two days, investors have lost over $6 trillion. Money is leaving the stock market faster than Morgan Wallen at goodnights.' Long-time cast member Kenan Thompson also had thoughts about it, saying the Wallen quickstep was unusual at best. 'We're so used to everybody just turning around and high-fiving us, everybody's saying, 'Good job, good job, good job.' So when there's a departure from that, it's like, hmm, I wonder what that's about?' Thompson said, noting that Prince had pulled a similar move during his appearance on the show years ago. 'I'm not saying Morgan Wallen is Prince, but we weren't surprised because Prince was notoriously kind of standoffish,' Thompson said. 'It's just how he was. So we just thought like, 'Okay, now he's gone back into fantasyland.' Wallen's upcoming 37-track album, I'm the Problem, is due out on Friday (May 16). Kanye West Says Wife Bianca Censori Left Him After Trying to Get Him Committed

The post Kanye West Says Wife Bianca Censori Left Him After Trying to Get Him Committed appeared first on Consequence. Kanye West has previewed a new song confirming his split from Bianca Censori. On the track, titled 'BIANCA,' the embattled artist says that his wife tried to leave him after attempting to get him committed. Premiered on DJ Akademiks' stream, 'BIANCA' is reportedly set to appear on Ye's new album, WW3. 'My baby she ran away/ But first, she tried to get me committed,' he raps on the opening verse (as transcribed on Genius), before collaborator Dave Blunts adds, 'Not going to the hospital 'cause I am not sick, I just do not get it.' West continues by saying he'll 'stay up all night' until Censori comes back to him, before revealing he found out she took his car through his Maybach app. He also says they're the 'new Cassie and Diddy,' referring to the disgraced music mogul who was caught on camera assaulting his ex-girlfriend. He goes on to say Censori's family deserves part of the blame: 'Her family, they want me locked up/ They want me to go on retreat.' Despite all this, Kanye still begs her to 'come back to me.' On another track, 'WW3,' West also references recent Twitter rants featuring rampant antisemitism and targeting his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, JAY-Z, Beyonce, and Playboi Carti. Notably, even Elon Musk had enough during one of those sprees and restricted his account. Elsewhere in the song, he once again acknowledges reports that he's been regularly inhaling nitrous oxide. In February, it was reported that West and Censori had separated and planned to file for divorce. The news came after he crashed the 2025 Grammys red carpet with Censori wearing a near-nude outfit, reportedly intending to confront Taylor Swift. Sharon Osbourne Open to the Idea of Black Sabbath Hologram Show

The post Sharon Osbourne Open to the Idea of Black Sabbath Hologram Show appeared first on Consequence. Black Sabbath are set to play their final concert in July, and the idea of the band living on as an ABBA Voyage-style hologram show has already been floated to Sharon Osbourne. In a new interview with Metal Hammer (via NME), Sharon said she would be open to the idea of a Sabbath hologram show, even expressing some enthusiasm about the prospects of the what the technology could accomplish in the years ahead. 'Sure I would, yeah,' Sharon said when asked if she would consider an ABBA Voyage-style show for Black Sabbath. 'Technology keeps moving on and on. You can do incredible things now, so what you could do in five years will be even better. You never know what the opportunities are.' Hologram tribute shows have been a contentious issue over the past decade, with some fans dismissing them as cash grabs that exploit an artist's legacy. But as the technology progresses, as Sharon said, more and more legacy bands could turn to the medium. Former Black Sabbath singer, the late Ronnie James Dio, has already been rendered in hologram form as part of the 'Dio Returns' experience, while KISS have gone as far as working with the creators of ABBA Voyage, Pophouse Entertainment, for their upcoming KISS Avatar shows. As for the real Black Sabbath's final show, Sharon went on to say that it was 'amazing' that drummer Bill Ward, with whom she has had personal beef, will be involved. 'I always say they've got that invisible connection between the four of them, and he's gonna be there, which is amazing,' she said. 'I'm not going to bullshit you and say we're the best of friends. We're not. We are such different people. But I respect Bill so much, and I'm so happy that he has agreed to come, for the band and for the fans.' Sabbath's final show is set for July 5th at Villa Park in Birmingham, England. Frontman Ozzy Osbourne will also be playing his final solo show that day, in addition to performances from a jam-packed lineup that features Metallica, Slayer, Guns N' Roses, Tool, Pantera, Gojira, Halestorm, Alice in Chains, Lamb of God, Anthrax, Mastodon, and more. U.S. Cancels Visas for Mexican Group After Showing Cartel Leader Photos in Concert

The U.S. State Department has canceled the work and tourist visas of the members of Mexican corrido group Los Alegres del Barranco after they displayed images of the leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, also known as 'El Mencho,' during a concert on Saturday (March 29) at an auditorium at the University of Guadalajara. The news was confirmed on Tuesday (April 1) by Christopher Landau, the Deputy Secretary of State, in a post on X. 'A Mexican band, Los Alegres del Barranco, portrayed images glorifying drug kingpin 'El Mencho' — head of the grotesquely violent CJNG cartel — at a recent concert in Mexico. I'm pleased to announce that the State Department has revoked the band members' work and tourism visas. In the Trump Administration, we take seriously our responsibility over foreigners' access to our country. The last thing we need is a welcome mat for people who extol criminals and terrorists.' The State Department, through Secretary of State Marco Rubio, announced on Feb. 20 the designation of eight cartels and transnational organizations — including the Jalisco New Generation Cartel — as Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTO) and Specially Designated Global Terrorists (SDGT). Prior to Landau's announcement, the concert had caused significant controversy and outrage in Mexico, which has long tried to curb the glorification of drug lords in popular Mexican music and narcocorridos. The concert was condemned on Monday (March 31) by Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum. It prompted the Jalisco State Prosecutor's Office to launch an investigation for 'glorification of crime.' On Tuesday (April 1), the governor of Jalisco, Pablo Lemus, wrote in a post on X that his government supports the measures adopted by the University of Guadalajara to prevent criminal acts from being glorified at concerts, as occurred over the weekend at the Telmex Auditorium. The local leader said he signed an executive order to ensure that no singer or group with a history of endorsing criminal activity will perform at events linked to his government. 'Next week, I will introduce an initiative to ensure that, in any legally sanctioned public event, producers and performers are held accountable for what happens during their shows, and no one can wash their hands of responsibility,' Lemus announced. Los Alegres del Barranco were scheduled to play shows in several U.S. cities, where the band was announced as part of the lineup for the Bésame Mucho festival April 5 in Austin, Texas. In a TikTok livestream on Tuesday, Pavel Morales, a member of the Sinaloan group, stated that the majority of their audience supports them and referred to their critics as 'confused.' Billboard Español reached out for comment to the band's reps, but hasn't received a reply by press time. Meanwhile, authorities from the municipality of Pedro Escobedo, in the Mexican state of Querétaro, confirmed on Tuesday that the group's scheduled performance for April 19 was canceled because 'it does not meet the necessary municipal permits for its realization,' the local government said in a statement on Tuesday. The projection of the controversial images took place during a concert titled 'Los Señores del Corrido' at the Telmex Auditorium, where Los Alegres del Barranco performed the song 'El Dueño del Palenque' (The Owner of the Palenque) and displayed on screen photos of the cartel leader, as well as other images created by AI. The images appeared on multiple videos on social media. They include the moments in which fans burst into cheers when the images of the cartel leader were shown, adding to the controversy. In a statement, Auditorio Telmex Adistanced itself from the events, arguing that the venue 'has no influence on the selection of the repertoire, speeches, or audiovisual material that artists decide to share with their audiences.' However, it acknowledged that the images of the kingpin could be considered an 'exultation of crime.' The controversy over the alleged tribute to the drug trafficker arises after information has surfaced over how the cartel uses clandestine ranches to recruit people through deceptive job offers, according to federal authorities and media reports. This followed the recent discovery of Izaguirre Ranch in early March in the municipality of Teuchitlán, where acts of torture and murder were allegedly committed, according to the Guerreros Buscadores collective.
