Company that arranged David Lammy's disastrous taxi trip claims Foreign Office booked their ‘worst offer'
THE company that arranged David Lammy's disastrous taxi trip has claimed the Foreign Office booked him on their 'worst offer'. GetTransfer was used last month to hire a chauffeur to drive the UK's Foreign Secretary from Forli, Italy to French ski resort Flaine. 3 3 3 But driver Nasim Mimun claimed the Labour MP became aggressive when refusing to pay an extra £590 on top of the agreed fare. Alexander Sapov, CEO and co-founder of GetTransfer, wrote a blog post yesterday 'in relation to UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy 'taxigate' incident'. Mr Sapov claimed the 2015 Ford Kuga was a 'small vehicle' which was 'not suited for VIP transportation'. He said: 'The chosen option appeared to me that it was the worst offer that was selected - someone selecting a beginner driver with inferior vehicle specifications and ratings'. Mr Sapov, 42, insisted there were more 'superior rated drivers and premium vehicles' available and urged personal assistants not to scrimp on their clients. He added: 'While I myself understand the tendency to opt for lower prices, it's crucial to remember that if you are dealing with high-ranking government officials and VIPs, and their families, please consider all factors upon selecting. 'Remember – price isn't the only factor that matters. Quality matters just as much, if not more, than the price alone.' It comes after The Sun revealed Kremlin links to GetTransfer, founded by Mr Sapov, Pavel Zaitsev and Russian playboy entrepreneur Alexander Pershikov. In November, 2012, Mr Sapov and Mr Pershikov, 44, both worked for communications agency Kremlin Multimedia which carried out pro-government projects. GetTransfer insisted it had been comprehensively restructured to 'eliminate any potential links to Russia'. Mr Mimun, 40, has since been charged with theft after driving off with Mr Lammy's belongings before later returning them. A Foreign Office spokesman declined to comment on the GetTransfer open letter, adding: 'We totally refute these allegations. The fare was paid in full. 'The Foreign Secretary and his wife are named as victims in this matter and the driver has been fired by his employer and charged with theft. 'As there is an ongoing legal process, it would be inappropriate to comment further.'

Foreign Office used a firm with links to the Kremlin to book David Lammy's fare-row taxi
THE Foreign Office used a firm with links to the Kremlin to book David Lammy's fare-row taxi. GetTransfer was founded by Russian playboy entrepreneur Alexander Pershikov, as well as Alexander Sapov and Pavel Zaitsev. 3 3 3 Pershikov and Sapov, then 32 and 29, worked for a communications agency called Kremlin Multimedia in November 2012. The company worked on pro-government projects and sought to promote Moscow as a tourist location. It also pushed brands for Moscow and Russia and represented some politicians, including Dmitry Medvedev, a crony of Vladimir Putin. The Foreign Office used GetTransfer to book a chauffeur to drive Mr Lammy and his wife on a six-hour trip from Italy to a French ski resort last month. But driver Nasim Mimun demanded an extra £590 on top of the already agreed fare and said Foreign Secretary Mr Lammy — who yesterday met Pakistan's deputy PM Ishaq Dar — refused to pay and became aggressive. Mr Mimun, 40, drove off with their belongings including luggage and cash. He later returned them but has been charged with theft. Get Transfer and the Foreign Office have been approached for comment.

Lammy hits back at French taxi driver
Back to our hapless Foreign Secretary David Lammy, who has found himself embroiled in a new war of words. No, not with Lavrov or Xi – this time, it's with a French cab driver. Zut alors! It transpires that Lammy got himself into a dispute with French taxi driver Nasin Mumin after the latter charged the Foreign Secretary and his wife Nicola Green an additional fee of €700 for a 360-mile trip from Forli in Italy, where the King made a state visit, to Flaine in France. Mumin alleges the couple's entourage had agreed to pay the extra fee (on top of the €850 prepaid via the GetTransfer platform) because he was carrying a higher-risk client – and has branded Lammy a 'liar' and a 'thief' after the Foreign Secretary refused to cough up. Mumin, who has since been fired by GetTransfer, admitted he drove off with the Lammys' luggage after the pair got out of the taxi, but says he phoned the Swiss police afterwards and passed over his details.
