"I'm sick to my stomach if I'm Micah Parsons. The Cowboys are sitting back like 'all is well, status quo.' If you're Micah do you really want to be a part of that?''
"I'm sick to my stomach if I'm Micah Parsons. The Cowboys are sitting back like 'all is well, status quo.' If you're Micah do you really want to be a part of that?'' - ESPN originally appeared on Athlon Sports. FRISCO - The Dallas Cowboys and their "selectively aggressive" philosophy moved them to trade for George Pickens ... maybe putting a cork into some of the criticism that "America's Team'' is unwilling to do enough to compete. Advertisement But the next step remains undone. And the national media is getting that itch ... All-Pro defensive star Micah Parsons this offseason responded to the Washington Commanders acquiring Pro Bowl left tackle Laremy Tunsil to protect rising quarterback Jayden Daniels with three simple letters: WFT. In response to Parsons' visible frustration, ESPN's Get Up! offers advice to the star, who is under contract for 2025 and has worked with the Cowboys in negotiating a contract extension that we believe could end in a five-year, $200 million deal that would make him the highest-paid non-QB in NFL history. ESPN's advice? In short, "Dallas sucks.'' Advertisement That day, host Mike Greenberg and panelists Dan Orlovsky and Damien Woody took turns ripping the Cowboys while also telling Parsons to leave Dallas ... with no details of what that strategy would look like. "Get used to it," Greenberg said of other teams doing more than Dallas does. Orlovsky: "The Cowboys are 13th in free-agency spending the last three seasons, yet their value has gone up $3 billion. That's an owner stat, not a football stat." Woody: "I'm sick to my stomach if I'm Micah. The Cowboys are sitting back like 'all is well, status quo.' If you're Micah do you really want to be a part of that?'' Advertisement Of course, here we are a few weeks later and ESPN feels all wrong. The Cowboys didn't "sit back.'' They are clearly trying to compete. And yet ... The national media advice never stops, with PFT's Mike Florio advising Parsons to stay away from offseason workouts until a new deal is done. That advice ignores the fact that Parsons is presently under contract ... and as it includes the statement "the Cowboys are clueless,'' feels like nothing more that contrarian trolling. And it echoes something Greenberg said in his "advice to Micah.'' "Do I want to be one of the biggest stars in the NFL - because the Cowboys can do that - or do I want to be on a championship team?'' he wondered. "Right now the Cowboys feel about as far from that as anyone in the entire league." ESPN host on John Haliburton taunting Giannis: 'Punish him... You have to make a stand'
As predicted by IndyStar columnist Gregg Doyel, most of the talk nationally the morning after the Pacers' thrilling Game 5 win over the Bucks isn't about the game itself, but rather the postgame incident afterward. Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo got into a confrontation with Tyrese Haliburton's dad, John, after the elder Haliburton walked onto the court and waved a towel with the Pacers point guard's image in the face of the two-time MVP. John Haliburton and Antetokounmpo had to be separated, and he and Tyrese later apologized for the incident. "Me and my pops have talked about that," Tyrese Haliburton said in his postgame news conference. "I don't agree with what transpired there from him. I think basketball is basketball and let's keep it on the court. I think he just got excited, saw his son make a game-winner and came on the court. We had a conversation. He needs to just allow me to play basketball and stay over there, I'll come to him to celebrate. I don't think my pops was in the right at all there. Unfortunate what happened at the end there." John Haliburton was also contrite, taking to social media to apologize. Need a break? Play the USA TODAY Daily Crossword Puzzle. "I sincerely apologize to Giannis, the Milwaukee Bucks and the Pacers organization for my actions following tonight's game," he posted on X. "This was not a good reflection on our sport or my son and I will not make that mistake again." Some don't think he should even have the opportunity to make the mistake again. On ESPN's "Get Up!" Wednesday morning, host Ryan Clark went in on John Haliburton, saying he should be banned from attending games. "I believe he should never be allowed to be at another basketball game," Clark said. "He shouldn't be allowed... he shouldn't be able to come to the suite. Punish him. If you're going to go on the court, if you're going to be big and bad, if you're going to put yourself above the game, don't come to the game. Ever. You have to make a stand, so no one else does this." TNT's "Inside the NBA" crew was a little more measured in their condemnation, though mostly agreed John Haliburton was in the wrong. "What's his dad doing on the court? He's not supposed to be on the court. He's an idiot and if don't you think that, you're an idiot, too," Charles Barkley said. With Kenny Smith adding: "Because you pay for a ticket, it doesn't entitle you to be on the court." Shaquille O'Neal wasn't so moved: "I don't care. It comes with the territory," saying Antetokounmpo should have ignored John Haliburton. "I played 19 years; it happened plenty of times. It comes with the territory... Don't be a punk and whine about it." Indiana coach Rick Carlisle said he and members of the Pacers spoke with John Haliburton after the game, but it's unclear at this point what, if any, type of punishment will be handed down either by the Pacers or the NBA.

NFL Insider Reveals New Update On Aaron Rodgers' Steelers Signing
With it being neither dead nor facing a deadline, the idea of Aaron Rodgers signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers remains in limbo. After Rodgers' release by the New York Jets and Justin Fields signing there, the dots began to be connected to him playing for the Steelers on March 10. Two weeks later former Steelers' quarterback Russell Wilson signed with the New York Giants, heating up the conversation. Rodgers then reportedly had a throwing session with new Pittsburgh receiver DK Metcalf at UCLA March 30. Advertisement But since then - for two-plus weeks - crickets. The Athletic reported Wednesday that talks are essentially dormant, even with the draft only a week away and only Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson as quarterbacks on the Steelers' roster. "I spoke to Pittsburgh this morning," Dianna Russini said on The Herd With Colin Cowherd. "No updates. Think about this. We're a week out from the NFL Draft and they have no idea whether or not Aaron Rodgers is going to sign with them." Rodgers is a four-time MVP with a Hall-of-Fame resume, but Steelers fans - and former players - are getting fed up with him exploiting his leverage to essentially hold Pittsburgh hostage. Advertisement "I mean, it makes me sick, to be honest," Ryan Clark said on Wednesday's Get Up! on ESPN. "Unless (general manager) Omar Khan has some sort of promise or some sort of lean on Aaron Rodgers believing that he is going to come back and play football and if he does make that decision, he's going to be a Pittsburgh Steeler." Clark doesn't like how the situation has played out, saying it's been mishandled. Outside of the draft, there is no clear solution for the Steelers. "I feel like this has been mishandled already," Clark said. "I feel like to be waiting, right, or to be held hostage by a former quarter – or a former quarterback of the New York Jets has actually never done anything for you. What has Aaron Rodgers done in the last two years or since leaving Green Bay that says he should be afforded this type of time that says that you should give them a sort of respect that keeps your franchise at bay?" Steelers' head coach Mike Tomlin has repeatedly said, however, that he doesn't like to live by deadlines. So ...
