GoFundMe for family of Whitney Point student athlete
WHITNEY POINT, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – A GoFundMe has been set up in the memory of Whitney Point student-athlete, senior Mason Armagno, to help cover the costs of memorial and funeral services for the family.
The GoFundMe, set up by Armagno's cousin George Getson, has a current goal of $20,000. 'No parent should have to bury their own son, let alone pay for this awful ordeal,' Getson said in the post.
According to the post, Mason's life was lost on Tuesday, May 27. Getson said the young athlete was an 'avid football and baseball player. Mason was the oldest of 4 siblings, and was loved by many friends and family members.'
The post mentioned that services will be held at Sunset Memorial in Whitney Point on Saturday, May 31, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Getson says that any additional funds outside of service costs will be used in some capacity to remember Armagno.
