'One Nation, one Husband?' Mann's dig at 'Sindoor' draws flak
Chandigarh, June 3 (UNI) "One nation, one husband?", Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann's dig at BJP's "Ghar-Ghar Sindoor abhiyan" drew flak on Tuesday, especially from BJP leaders who alleged that Mann had mocked Operation Sindoor.
Mann, in a press conference, was asked by a journalist about Sindoor being sent to Ludhiana.
He quipped, "What is this scheme? One nation, one husband??"
He termed the BJP's so-called scheme a joke. He alleged that the BJP was trying to seek votes over Sindoor.
Bye-elections for Ludhiana West assembly seat are scheduled for June 19.
Meanwhile, taking exception to Mann's jibe, Union Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Singh Bittu said that the nation won't forgive Mann for the words he has used for the PM.
Haryana Minister and BJP leader Anil Vij, reacting to Mann's comment, said that Mann, who was a comedian earlier, was "doing comedy in politics".
He said that one should not make comments without grasping the depth of an issue.
