Major TV Events Continue In Cologne Despite Huge Evacuation While German City Deals With WWII Bombs
This wasn't the news the German TV industry was expecting at the start of the week. The largest evacuation since World War II has been taking place in Cologne, as authorities sought to defuse three huge WWII bombs, as several major events are concurrently held in the city. More from Deadline BBC Studios Producer Reveals Why 'Ghosts' Is "Indebted" To 'Friends' - Seriencamp Euro Networks Talk Streamer Levies & "Talk Of The Town" Scripted Co-Productions - Seriencamp Screenwriter Discusses Rush To Bring Prime Video's The Elevator Boys Movie to Life - Seriencamp The evacuation is hitting businesses, schools, hospitals and residents in the affected area and some 20,500 people are being moved with tents set up to provide food and water. From a media perspective, the evacuation came as major TV and cable industry events were underway. Both TV industry conference Seriencamp and tech-meets-content event AngaCom are situated outside the affected area and will continue. The latter regularly attracts well over 20,000 participants. Prime Video is holding an upfront event this evening in the Ehrenfeld area, which is close to Seriencamp and slated to continue. The likes of Maxton Hall scriptwriter Julia Dehne, Smallville showrunner Kelly Souders and Banijay Entertainment co-fiction chief Johannes Jensen are in town for Seriencamp. We're also on the ground for the event and will update this article as developments happen. RTL has been impacted, with the broadcaster shifting broadcasts to Berlin as the bombs are dealt with. Although unaffected, travel plans for people attending events are massively disrupted. At Seriencamp, talk of co-production and industry trends took place alongside chatter about how to get to airports and stations amid the evacuation, notably for those travelling today. Some delegates also had to move hotels and alternate plans are being made. 'The evacuation is the largest operation since the end of World War II,' City authorities said. The official info detailed affected areas and infrastructure including RTL and several cultural spaces including the trade fair center, the LANXESS arena, the Musical Dome, the Philharmonic Hall and many museums. The area close to the UNESCO-listed Cologne Cathedreal, known as the tallest twin-spired cathedral in the world, is near the radius. Specifically, there are two 20-tonne bombs and a 10-tonne bomb, the City added. All three are American. Discovering unexploded WWII bombs in German cities is not unusual, but the scale of today's impacts are by far the most dramatic since end of the war in 1945. Provided the bombs can be defused, it is expected people will return to their homes this evening. 'Oh, my!' A long-awaited 'Ghosts' kiss ends Season 4: Why the steamy lip lock matters
'Oh, my!' A long-awaited 'Ghosts' kiss ends Season 4: Why the steamy lip lock matters Show Caption Hide Caption Star of 'Grey's Anatomy' Ellen Pompeo receives star on Walk of Fame "She has earned this star." Ellen Pompeo, star of the TV series "Grey's Anatomy" received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Unlike last season, no spirit was "sucked off" into heaven during the May 8 "Ghost" Season 4 finale (now streaming on Paramount+). But the episode featured a majorly hot spiritual development: Former Pinecone Trooper Pete Martino (Richie Moriarty), the ghost with the fatal archery arrow still stuck through his neck, finally hit the lip target with fellow spirit Alberta Haynes (Danielle Pinnock), the 1920s Prohibition-era jazz singer and poisoning victim. Their long-awaited smooch was so otherworldly smoking that Alberta could only gasp, "Oh, my!" "It's a kiss that's been a long time in the making," says executive producer Joe Wiseman, who writes the CBS hit comedy with fellow executive producer Joe Port. "Pete has always had a thing for Alberta. And during past seasons, we've chipped away at Alberta's reluctance about Pete. It finally pays off in the finale." Pete finally flexed his oboe-enhanced 'lip strength' in kissing Alberta Pete and Alberta have shown hints of couple chemistry since the 2021 premiere of the CBS comedy. In Season 2, Alberta gently rebuffed Pete's amorous advance. And in the April 20 episode, Pete gently denied Alberta due to his outside ghost girlfriend, Donna. Yet Alberta has stayed in the game, attracted to Pete's growing confidence (spurred by his newfound power of leaving the residence) and his scout shorts and knee-high socks wardrobe. So the power pucker finally prevails, despite Donna. "Lip strength," Pete says silkily, post-kiss, as Alberta swoons. "That's from my oboe days." The latest ghost hookup is a big deal for haunted Woodstone Mansion, the family estate inherited by living ancestor Samantha (Rose McIver) and her husband Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar). Except for Pete, the ghosts from different eras who died on the grounds cannot leave – even if the love doesn't work out. "We have to put ourselves in the ghosts' shoes," says Port. "If you have tried to have a relationship with someone with whom you'll be stuck forever in a house and it doesn't work out, the stakes are very high. So we proceed cautiously when pairing people up." Here's who's paired up on "Ghosts": Joan helped Sasappis lose his 500-year-old virginity Sasappis (Román Zaragoza), the Native American ghost from the 16th century and a member of the Lenape tribe, had been a reluctant virgin for 500 years until the season's penultimate episode. Sass and new ghost Joan (Taylor Ortega), a 1940s screenwriter, tapped out the happy conclusion to that saga. "We saw some kissing and then some disastrous foreplay," says Port. "And then we left the rest of the imagination." Thorfinn and Flower are powering on in 'Ghosts' Stranded Viking Thorfinn (Devan Chandler Long), the oldest spirit haunting the mansion, died from a lightning strike. Thorfinn was struck again by ghost love with free-spirited 1960s hippie Flower (Sheila Carrasco) in Season 2. Despite significant cultural and personality differences, the two are still going strong. Hetty and pantsless Trevor are 'not together' Onetime robber baroness Henrietta "Hetty" Woodstone (Rebecca Wisocky), Sam's ancestor, somehow got together with cocky and pantsless former Wall Street broker Trevor Lefkowitz (Asher Grodman) in Season 2. The paranormal relationship has had ups and downs since. "But they are not together," says Port. Nigel and Isaac had post-Revolutionary War love They were avowed enemies of war: American Revolutionary War veteran Isaac Higgintoot (Brandon Scott Jones) and British officer Nigel Chessum (John Hartman) found unlikely love in Season 2. In the Season 3 finale, Isaac was unable to wed Nigel, leaving his would-be spouse at the altar. The duo has had to work to salvage a friendship. What will happen to 'Ghosts' love? There is a non-romantic Season 4 finale cliffhanger involving Jay. The aspiring restaurateur accidentally sells his soul to the devil for a PR blitz that includes a foodie magazine cover story – and the devil's emissary, Elias Woodstone (Matt Walsh), is trying to kill Jay to expedite the soul-collecting process. Jay's eternal fate, along with the growing love connections – including Alberta and Pete's – will have to wait until Season 5 next fall. There is one sure thing. Despite the heat, the "Ghosts" hookups won't get racier. "That's been suggested, but we're never going to become 'Cinemax After Dark' or whatever," says Port. "This is a CBS family show."

Doctor Odyssey Just Aired Its Sexiest Episode Yet — And Delivered Another Pregnancy Twist
Don't let the mention of vaginismus throw you off. Doctor Odyssey Episode 16 is the ABC sudser's sexist hour yet. Sure, we've already been gifted a Doctor Odyssey threesome, but that only lasted a few seconds before the credits started to roll. Ever since, we've been begging for steam, flirtation and good old-fashioned (broadcast TV-appropriate) sex! This week, the series finally scratched that itch with the arrival of sex therapist Mona Yeager, played by Whitney Cummings. More from TVLine 9-1-1 Eases Viewers Into a New Era Without Bobby - Did His Funeral Provide the Closure You Needed? Ghosts' Sam and Jay Argue, and We Don't Like It - Plus, Did Sasappis Finally Lose His V-Card? The Amazing Race: Phil Drops Another Big Surprise Twist on the Racers The sexpert, who is suffering from a serious case of vaginismus (!), boards the ship to promote her latest book. Turns out, Avery is a devoted fan. Despite formally rejecting both of her love interests at the top of the hour, Avery becomes inspired — overwhelmed, even — by Mona's sex-positive advice. Our buttoned-up nurse goes and buys herself a new adult toy to 'blaze her own trail,' as Mona says. In the meantime, she can't help but ogle at Dr. Max's butt and Tristan's abs. The woman is in heat! Later, when Mona hears about Avery's awkward relationship with Max and Tristan, she wants to help. She urges her new friend to 'have sex with one of them… and then the other.' So, Avery takes that advice and runs with it all the way to her co-workers, delivering a new proposal: casual crew sex! Physical intimacy without emotional intimacy! Max, of course, says no. He's not the type for flings like that, and ultimately declares his undying love for Avery. (Max, get a grip.) Tristan, however, is all in — and things don't take long to heat up. One simple brush of the arm is all Avery needs to hop into a cabin and rip Tristan's clothes off. The two share an intimate moment… and another… and then one more before the episode ends. Finally, we get to see our girl get her gears greased and let loose! But not everyone shares Avery's Episode 16 euphoria. Captain Massey receives some bad news: On land, Heather has lost the baby, so he's no longer a daddy-to-be. (Considering the show's affinity for a pregnancy plotline, however, I'm sure Doctor Odyssey can cook up another twist to make up for the loss.) What did you think of s latest sexcapades? Ghosts Stages Almost-Kiss! Are You Into It? — Plus, New Ghost Rule Is Dope
Remember when Pete had a crush on Alberta on Ghosts and she rejected him, and then the show kind of moved on? Well, the potential pairing might be back on! During this Thursday episode, Pete volunteers to keep an eye on Gabe, Jay's stoned restaurant employee, and discovers a surprising new ghost ability: Since the spirits can smell, they can get high! Which is a very fitting reveal as it's 4/20 in the installment and the episode is the 20th of the fourth season. More from TVLine Ghosts' Asher Grodman Explains Trevor's The Cutting Edge Obsession Ghosts' Asher Grodman Talks Trevor's Big Familial Surprise: 'I'm Thrilled We're Flying With This' Étoile Premiere Sets Up a Dancing Scheme - Grade the Amy Sherman-Palladino Ballet Dramedy While Gabe is smoking up in his car, Pete starts reminiscing about Bugles (which are still sold in stores and just as delicious as you remember, FYI!). Pete later catches up with Flower, who realizes that he's 'totally baked' like the bread he's been admiring. Naturally, the honorable scout leader is horrified by what's happening to him. He doesn't smoke grass, he cuts grass, he exclaims. Hetty remarks to Alberta that Pete has, surprisingly, become something of a bad boy. Alberta is skeptical… until Hetty points out how Pete has been wandering and dating up a storm, was secretly in the mafia and punched Thor in the face after the Viking slept with Carol. Now, Alberta is intrigued and goes to Pete, who's still high. Alberta leans in, puckers her lips ever so slightly and… Pete facepalms her, much to her embarrassment. Even though he's had a crush Alberta for the longest time, he can't be a cheater when he's still with Donna. It's been a while since the series addressed Pete's feelings for Alberta, and her lack of them for him, but could this uncomfortable encounter be hinting at a big change ahead and a new Woodstone couple? Or do you think Alberta is suddenly into Pete for all the wrong reasons? Elsewhere in the episode, local mayor Tad (guest star Justin Kirk) hosts a campaign event at Jay's restaurant and turns out be attic ghost Stephanie's prom date. Hetty and Isaac think it's a good idea to wake her, but they're the ones who get a rude awakening when an angry Stephanie reveals that Tad left her to die. Stephanie wants Jay and Sam to expose Tad's lies, but Jay is counting on the mayor helping them with the restaurant permits and argues that sometimes it's OK for Sam to pick themselves over helping the ghosts. Stephanie's 'not even one of the main ghosts,' Jay adds. Ha! And also, ouch! Then basement ghost Nancy shares that she was there that fateful night and Stephanie is lying about Tad, who went after the killer before being knocked out. Stephanie is actually trying to get back at Tad for moving on with her best friend just days after her death. Unfortunately, Jay and Sam already had a change of heart and are outing the mayor in front of his guests, not knowing the truth. Sam bluffs about him passing a test and later lies that they were really high. Tad suggests they just split a gummy in the future and promises to give the permit office a call. Meanwhile, Stephanie discovers that Tad and her bestie found solace in each other after her death. They, eventually, got married and named their daughter after her, which finally wins mean Stephanie over. Not won over, though?
