"Squid Game" fans awoke to a scintillating and suspenseful new look at the show's third season earlier this week. In a new trailer, released May 5, beloved characters return after Season 2's violent cliff-hanger. Back to battle once again for their lives and a giant cash prize, the wordless preview sees contestants facing a series of high-stakes situations, involving guns, fists and an ominous giant gumball machine. The viral dystopic show, which centers around main character Seong Gi-hun or Player 456 (Lee Jung-jae), has delighted fans since its 2021 premiere, combining classic thriller elements with a deeper exploration of the human capacity for evil and the perils of an unequal society. Squid Game 3 Teaser: Gi-Hun Returns, Final Battle Begins; Who Will Survive The End?

Last Updated: Netflix dropped the teaser for Squid Game Season 3 on May 6, and it's clear that the stakes have never been higher. The teaser offers a chilling look into what's coming. The game is far from over, at least not until one final, bloody showdown. Netflix dropped the teaser for Squid Game Season 3 on May 6, and it's clear that the stakes have never been higher. The teaser offers a chilling look into what's coming: the return of the deathly game, the rebirth of the rebellion and a vengeance-fuelled Seong Gi-Hun (Lee Jung-Jae) leading the charge. Season 3 picks up with Gi-Hun being brought back into the facility, sealed in a coffin. Inside, survivors of previous rounds look terrified and unsure of what lies ahead. Gi-Hun, however, seems far from broken. Still haunted by the deaths of Jung-Bae and his comrades, he's back with a mission to dismantle the system once and for all. Among the familiar faces making a return are Myung-Gi, who had initially resisted joining the rebellion; Yong-Sik and Geum-Ja, a mother-son duo now on opposing teams; and Jun-Hee, whose tearful appearance suggests loss is imminent. Hyun-Ju, once a leader of the coup, is also seen, still looking for Dae-Ho, who remains alive after retreating out of fear. The teaser also features detective Hwang Jun-Ho sneaking into the control room, while pink guard No-Eul explores a restricted zone, possibly hinting at a mutiny from within. Interestingly, Front Man In-Ho is conspicuously absent from the footage, and there's no sign of Gyeong-Seok, leaving his fate unresolved. As the teaser races through intense sequences, the infamous red-blue ball game appears to cause a rift among the players. Though Myung-Gi is seen on Gi-Hun's red team, his blood-splattered face hints at yet another brutal loss. With Yong-Sik and Geum-Ja pitted against each other, at least one heartbreaking death seems inevitable. The teaser ends on a deeply unsettling note with the cry of a baby echoing through the chaos. Season 3, which marks the final installment of the global phenomenon, features returning actors including Lee Jung-Jae, Lee Byung-Hun, Wi Ha-Joon, Im Si-Wan, Kang Ha-Neul, Park Sung-Hoon, Jo Yu-Ri, Kang Ae-Shim, Yang Dong-Geun, Lee David, Roh Jae-Won, and Park Gyu-Young. Squid Game Season 3 premieres June 27 on Netflix. First Published:

Squid Game 3 teaser: Gi-Hun's return creates excitement among fans, Netflix confirms premiere of finale season on June 27

Netflix has released the first teaser of Squid Game season 3, confirming that the finale chapter is set to premiere on June 27, 2025. The teaser was revealed on May 6, while the full trailer is expected to release by the end of May. Many fans assumed that Gi-Hun would be missing from season 3, but his return has created excitement among fans. While Squid Game season one debuted in 2021, part two came out several years later. However, there isn't a lot of gap between seasons 2 and 3 though – the second season released last December, and the third is set to premiere in June. The teaser of Squid Game season 3 opens with the line, 'It's time to play one last time,' along with visuals of players and glimpses of the future deadly games. Netflix Korea took to their Instagram and posted the short clip and captioned it as, 'Smile, we have something special for you.' Check out the teaser: As the teaser moves forward, the infamous gumball machine reappears, giving red and blue balls, indicating a game-changing mechanic. It was last shown in Season 2 that colours were used to hint at decisions, possibly for team formations or destiny might take shape in this manner. Season three will pick up where season two finished last, with Gi-hun back in the death trap game after a failed mission against The Front Man, once disguised as Player 001, who has taken control over the games once again. In addition, towards the end of the teaser, it also shows player 222 possibly giving birth in the upcoming season.
