Nottingham Forest drop new Morgan Gibbs-White hint after Tottenham demand

Morgan Gibbs-White is the subject of transfer interest from Tottenham, but Nottingham Forest have no intention of selling him after receiving a £60million offer Nottingham Forest made their plans over Morgan Gibbs-White clear by starting him in a pre-season friendly on Saturday. Gibbs-White is at the centre of a tug-of-war between Forest and Tottenham, but still turned out for his club against Monaco in Chesterfield. ‌ Spurs have made an official £60million bid for the England midfielder – a figure which matches his release clause. Forest were furious with the offer however, accusing Tottenham of an "illegal approach" and said they would be consulting their lawyers after concerns of a confidentiality breach. ‌ They were bemused by how Spurs knew the release clause figure and have demanded they do not make any contact with Gibbs-White, who they say is simply not for sale. It means a stalemate has broken out between the two clubs, leaving the 25-year-old in limbo ahead of the 2025/26 season. ‌ He has reportedly held talks with the hierarchy at Forest, seeking clarity on their stance, but has maintained a professional attitude. It seems crystal clear what Forest's plans are after he was thrown into the starting XI to face Monaco on Saturday afternoon. Gibbs-White started in the No.10 position, with Chris Wood up front and Callum Hudson-Odoi and Jota Silva on either flank. Forest changed their side at half-time, rotating the players so everyone got 45 minutes, as the match finished goalless. Their match report notes that Gibbs-White came close to opening the scoring with a header from a Hudson-Odoi corner, but Philipp Kohn kept him out with a save. The Forest social media manager chose a picture of Gibbs-White to illustrate their kick-off graphic and there are no signs that the club are preparing to let him go. ‌ Gibbs-White reportedly wants his future cleared up before Forest head out on their pre-season trip to Portugal on Monday. That now appears unlikely, with Spurs mulling over their next step after Forest's aggressive riposte to their approach. Nuno Espirito Santo's side are flying to the south of Portugal on Monday, where they will take on Fulham and Estoril Praia in friendlies. After further pre-season games against Birmingham, Fiorentina and Al Qadsiah, they will begin their Premier League campaign against Brentford on August 17. ‌ Gibbs-White was first linked with a move to Manchester City this summer after enjoying an excellent campaign in which he picked up seven goals and eight assists in the Premier League. But it was Spurs who lodged a bid after completing the signing of Mohammed Kudus from West Ham. Forest are waiting to find out if they will play in the Europa League in the 2025/26 season after Crystal Palace were demoted to the Conference League by UEFA over multi-club ownership breaches. Forest wrote to UEFA to raise concerns about Palace's links to Lyon via John Textor. Forest owner, Evangelos Marinakis, who also owns the Greek side Olympiakos, placed his shares into a blind trust to comply with the rules in the event that Forest qualified for the Champions League.

Nottingham Forest ‘persuading' Gibbs-White to stay

Tottenham Set Timeline as Forest Dig In Over Gibbs-White Deal Forest determined to keep key midfielder despite Tottenham interest Nottingham Forest are pushing to retain Morgan Gibbs-White amid persistent interest from Tottenham Hotspur, according to GiveMeSport. The midfielder, who played a crucial role in Forest's impressive campaign last season, is seen as a priority target for Thomas Frank. Photo IMAGO Forest are understood to be preparing a new contract offer in a bid to secure the England international's long-term commitment. The club's intention is to remove a £60 million release clause that has attracted attention from rivals. However, GiveMeSport state that Forest have 'struggled for over a year' to convince Gibbs-White to extend his stay. Legal questions arise as Forest push back The situation has now escalated. Forest have written to Tottenham to express concerns over how the North London club became aware of the clause. The club believes there is no legal pathway for Spurs to access that information unless it came directly from Forest themselves. As GiveMeSport report, 'it's not uncommon for clauses to be kept secret, and players are sometimes bound by terms not to breach confidentiality.' Forest are reportedly exploring legal action and have raised the issue with the Premier League. Tottenham aim for swift resolution Despite the legal warning, Tottenham remain focused on signing Gibbs-White. According to the report, they are 'hoping to resolve the situation this week.' A medical had been scheduled last week, but the process has stalled while Spurs evaluate their next steps. Photo: IMAGO While the player is said to be open to the move, Forest are holding firm. They have made it clear that Tottenham are not permitted to contact Gibbs-White without formal permission. The North London club's pursuit now hinges on how they respond to the potential legal proceedings. Comparison made with Olise situation There are echoes of the Michael Olise case, where Chelsea believed they had triggered his clause, only for Crystal Palace to contest the process. Olise ultimately signed a new deal before later joining Bayern Munich. Forest are clearly hoping for a similar outcome in their efforts to keep Gibbs-White. Photo IMAGO Our View – EPL Index Analysis Morgan Gibbs-White has been transformative since his arrival, and letting him go now, just as Forest are building momentum, would send the wrong message. Forest's insistence on defending their contractual terms and even considering legal action shows a level of backbone we have not always seen. The idea that another club could potentially exploit a release clause through informal channels is unacceptable, and supporters will be pleased to see the club not rolling over. Yes, £60 million is significant, but so is the player's value to the project. You do not replace someone like Gibbs-White easily. He fits Forest's style, understands the club, and has shown loyalty. If they are to progress as a club, they need to keep players like him at the centre of it. Offering a new deal and removing the clause is smart business. Forest must hold firm. If Spurs want him, they should go through the proper channels or move on. This one could still get messy, but Forest look ready for the fight.

Transfer news LIVE: Liverpool reach Ekitike agreement, Man Utd submit THIRD Mbeumo bid, Gyokeres to Arsenal latest

No Alexander Isak, no problem for Liverpool. The Premier League champions have pivoted from attempting to sign Newcastle's talisman to stealing a march on their top target, Hugo Ekitike. After Newcastle had a £70million bid rejected by Eintracht Frankfurt, Liverpool have swooped in and agreed personal terms with the French striker, 23. They still need to strike a deal with Frankfurt, who are dialogue with the Reds and value Ekitike at a cool £85m. Speaking of expensive strikers, Arsenal are still in negotiations with Sporting Lisbon over Viktor Gyokeres. The Gunners fly out for their pre-season tour of Asia on Saturday and want the 27-year-old Swede, who's been fined by Sporting for failing to report for training in Portugal, as soon as possible. At Manchester United, their focus is firmly on Bryan Mbeumo and they finally made a third bid for the Brentford winger on Thursday. Ruben Amorim's side have offered a guaranteed £65m but Newcastle's interest in Brentford's Yoane Wissa could muddy the waters. 10:12Oli Gamp FULL STORY: Gibbs-White makes transfer demand Morgan Gibbs-White wants his future to be resolved before Nottingham Forest jet off to Portugal for their pre-season training camp. The 25-year-old is the subject of a furious transfer row after Tottenham activated his £60million release clause and thought they had snapped up the England international for a relative bargain. But Forest hit back and accused the North London side of an "illegal approach" and said they would be consulting their lawyers after concerns of a confidentiality breach relating to the player's release clause. Read the full story on Gibbs-White here. 09:45Nathan Ridley Osimhen poised for Galatasaray return Victor Osimhen is close to rejoining Galatasaray on a permanent basis in a huge £65.8million transfer deal. Reports from Italy claim that Galatasaray and Napoli are now in advanced talks, with only the final details such as his sell-on clause left to negotiate. The Turkish giants will pay £35.6m this summer before paying a further £30.2m by the end of 2026. Galatasaray also won't be able to sell Osimhen to an Italian club within the next two years. The Nigerian striker scored 37 goals in 41 appearances while on loan last season. 09:18Nathan Ridley AC Milan make Hojlund enquiry AC Milan have asked Manchester United about the availability of Rasmus Hojlund. Sky Sport Italia report that Milan have identified Hojlund, 22, as a target and recently made an enquiry. The feasability of a deal remains to seen, although United would likely be willing to part ways with the Danish striker, who knows Serie A from his time at Atalanta. 08:35Nathan Ridley Howe admits Newcastle frustrations Eddie Howe admits that Newcastle have had 'little' to show for their hard work in the transfer market. The Magpies appear to have lost out on Hugo Ekitike to Liverpool and have only made one signing, paying £55million for Anthony Elanga. "It was a difficult summer (to switch off) with everything going on behind the scenes," the Newcastle boss told NUFC TV. "Obviously losing Paul (Mitchell) and all of the dynamics changing within (the club). "The sporting director role is such a pivotal role at the club, so there was a lot (of work) to pick up. There has been a lot of work, transfer-wise, for very little incoming action. "Although we are delighted to get Anthony Elanga in, who has done very well in training so far. But a lot more work (is needed) behind the scenes in preparation for the new season." Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford remains a top target. 08:02Nathan Ridley Walker-Peters close to West Ham switch Free agent Kyle Walker-Peters has agreed to join West Ham on three-year deal, according to multiple reports. The ex-Southampton full-back had been set to join Turkish giants Besiktas but the move fell through. Walker-Peters, 28, was released by Southampton when his contract expired in June. 07:34Nathan Ridley ICYMI: Man City win race for wonderkid We're delighted to confirm the signing of Sverre Nypan from Norwegian side Rosenborg — Manchester City (@ManCity) July 17, 2025 07:07Nathan Ridley What's the latest on Gyokeres? The Viktor Gyokeres saga is still rumbling on and it'll have to be a quick resolution if Arsenal want him to undergo a medical in time for their pre-season tour. Mikel Arteta's squad will fly to Asia after facing Watford in their first friendly tomorrow. Earlier this week, it was reported that Arsenal had reached an agreement with Sporting to pay £55million plus £8.5m in add-ons. But Portuguese media claim that Sporting don't believe those add-ons are realistic, so they haven't formally accepted the bid. Unless Arsenal are keeping this well under wraps, don't expect to see Gyokeres in north London today. 06:48Nathan Ridley Ten Hag responds to Antony reunion links Former Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has ruled out a reunion with Antony at Bayer Leverkusen this summer. Antony, 25, is up for sale after a superb loan spell with Real Betis in the second half of last season. "He has great quality. I signed him twice. He was like a son to me, he still is a son to me," Ten Hag, who was appointed by Leverkusen in June, told Bild. "We're not interested in him at the moment, but we'll see what happens in the future." 06:24Felix Keith FULL STORY: Arsenal hijack Liverpool's move for striker Arsenal have reportedly muscled in to poach a highly-regarded young striker from under the noses of Liverpool. The Reds had been in pole position to sign Will Wright from Salford City after making the League Two club an offer. But Liverpool have now accepted defeat in the race for the 17-year-old striker after Arsenal gazumped them. Wright has attracted attention from Manchester City, Brentford, Leicester City and Burnley with his goal scoring exploits. Read the full story on Wright here. 06:00Nathan Ridley Good morning Hello and welcome to Friday's live transfer blog. We'll be bringing you all of the latest news and done deals throughout the day, so don't go anywhere. Ten Hag shoots down Antony transfer rumours Erik ten Hag clearly has a strong relationship with Manchester United star Antony after signing him twice during his career. He helped establish the Brazilian winger as one of Europe's most promising stars when the pair were at Ajax together, then brought him to Old Trafford for £85m in 2022. Antony has struggled to justify that huge fee during his time at United, but showed glimpses of his ability during an impressive loan spell at Real Betis last season. With Antony now looking to sort out his future once again this summer, Ten Hag's new club Bayer Leverkusen have emerged as a viable option - but the Dutchman has dismissed those claims. When asked if a transfer was possible, Ten Hag told Bild: "He has great quality. I signed him twice. He was like a son to me, he still is a son to me. "We're not interested in him at the moment, but we'll see what happens in the future." 21:16Oli Gamp Galatasaray closing in on Osimhen signing Victor Osimhen has been on the wishlists of a number of top clubs across Europe, but it looks like Galatasaray are set to wrap up his permanent signing following a successful loan spell last season. In a surprise move, reports have claimed Galatasaray will pay a total of £64m to Napoli after he fell out with boss Antonio Conte. One of the caveats of the deal reportedly state that the Turkish side cannot sell to any other Italian side for the next two seasons. Osimhen was previously linked with moves to Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United. 20:07Oli Gamp DONE DEAL! Manchester United star Gore loaned to Rotherham Things haven't quite come together at Manchester United for Dan Gore the way he would have hoped, but there's still plenty of time for him to make his big breakthrough into the first team aged 20. For now though, he'll have another chance to impress on loan at Rotherham, joining the League One side for another season after spending the second half of the 2024-25 campaign with them. Gore - famous for having a training ground scrap with Anthony Martial - wasn't able to impress with the Millers after suffering a hairline foot fracture early into his spell. He played just one game for the club and will now be keen to make up for lost time. 19:13Oli Gamp Ekitike hands transfer request Another plot twist in the Ekitike saga! Liverpool look like favourites to land the Frenchman this summer after Newcastle's £70m bid was rejected. It's believed Frankfurt want around £86.5m for their star player - which is the amount in his release clause - and Liverpool look likely to stump up a fee in that region. But to ensure the move goes through, Ekitike has now handed in a transfer request, according to German outlet Bild, as he looks to link up with the Premier League champions. 18:38Oli Gamp DONE DEAL! Man City sign Nypan This one has been brewing for a while but City have finally got their deal complete for talented wonderkid Sverre Nypan from Norwegian side Rosenberg. Nypan is seen as one of the most promising midfielders in football and joins City after Arsenal looked nailed on to sign him last year - before talks broke down. The 18-year-old joins City on a five year contract taking him up until 2030 - with big things expected after making his Rosenberg debut aged 15. The player said: 'I am incredibly happy and proud to have joined Manchester City. It's a dream for any young footballer to become part of this Club and to join such a group of world class talent. 'I am still very young with a lot to learn but the chance to be coached by Pep Guardiola, the best manager in the world, will only help me to become a better player. 'There is already a special connection between Norway and Manchester City through Erling Haaland and Oscar Bobb, and I am very proud to have become the latest Norwegian player to have joined the club.' 18:02Oli Gamp DONE DEAL! Bakayoko joins RB Leipzig Johan Bakayoko is a player who has been linked with a number of Premier League sides, including Newcastle and Nottingham Forest - but he's disappointed them by linking up with German outfit Leipzig. Bakayoko has signed a five-year deal with the Bundesliga side after they agreed a deal worth around £20million with his club PSV Eindhoven. 16:37Oli Gamp Mbeumo's favourite shirt number up for grabs Manchesster United are still locked in talks to sign Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford after lodging a £70m bid, and the Cameroon international could get his desired shirt number if he moves to Old Trafford. Mbeumo has always played in a number 19 shirt throughout his career and that number is currently up for grabs as things stand at United. The last player who occupied the No 19 shirt was defender Raphael Varane, who left for FC Como last year. 15:54Oli Gamp Another Diaz bid on the way Bayern Munich had a £58.5m bid rejected for Liverpool forward Luis Diaz last week, but appears Vincent Kompany's side are not deterred in their pursuit of the Colombian. Sky Sports in Germany are reporting the Bundesliga giants are prepared to go back in for the player and lodge another bid - though it would have to be a huge one to tempt Liverpool. It's understood the Reds value him closer to £86m after he contributed to their Premier League title triumph with 17 goals in all competitions. 14:58Felix Keith Spurs goalkeeper leaving Josh Keeley is leaving Tottenham to join Luton, according to the Evening Standard. The 22-year-old has failed to agree terms over a new deal with Spurs so will move on. He had a successful stint on loan with Leyton Orient last season and will now get regular game time in League One with Luton. 14:17KEY EVENT Man Utd make THIRD Mbeumo bid It's as if Manchester United were reading my last post... The Athletic reports that United have submitted a third bid for Bryan Mbeumo: £65m plus £5m in add-ons. It comes after two offers were rejected. Firstly, £45m plus £10m, then £55m plus £7.5m. After weeks of delays, United are desperate to get the deal over the line before the team heads off on their pre-season tour of the US. 13:59Felix Keith Another Mbeumo issue for Man Utd? As we have reported, Brentford are holding firm over Bryan Mbeumo, who wants to move to Manchester United. They've rejected two offers and are stalling things, with new boss Keith Andrews keen to keep his best players. Well, now Newcastle are pushing for Yoane Wissa - having been snubbed by Hugo Ekitike, who appears set for Liverpool - that could pose United another problem. Will Brentford green light the exits of their two best attackers to Premier League rivals in the same window? 13:37Felix Keith Juve set Vlahovic asking price Juventus are willing to sell Dusan Vlahovic for just £20million. According to Calciomercato, the Italian giants are so desperate to get his wages off the books that they will happily shake hands for €25m (£21m), with an offer of €20m (£17m) likely to be accepted too. The Serbia international has a year left on his deal and had requested Juventus terminate it for a payment of €10m (£9m), but that was rejected. AC Milan and Manchester United are reportedly in the picture. 13:02Alex Richards Besiktas pull out of Walker-Peters deal Turkish club Besiktas have issued a statement declaring they have withdrawn their offer to Kyle Walker-Peters. They wanted the free agent and had previously announced an agreement in principle. The player had duly been invited to Istanbul for a medical. But Walker-Peters might be holding out for something else, as he postponed that medical. However Besiktas have no intention of playing second fiddle. Now they've declared: "Today, Kyle Walker-Peters notified us, requesting an extension. Consequently, our club has withdrawn its transfer. "Our club continues its transfer efforts in accordance with its established policy." 12:57Nathan Ridley Newcastle turn focus away from Ekitike With Liverpool leaping ahead in the race for Hugo Ekitike, Newcastle have been forced to look for an alternative. Multiple reports claim that man is Brentford's Yoane Wissa. DR Congo international Wissa scored 20 goals for the Bees last term, becoming the club's record Premier League goalscorer. The 28-year-old is understood to be valued north of £50million. Contact between Newcastle and Brentford is expected soon. That could muddy the waters in Manchester United's pursuit of Bryan Mbeumo. TERMS AGREED Liverpool are moving fast! Personal terms with Eintracht Frankfurt hitman Hugo Ekitike have been agreed, with a six-year deal ready for the Frenchman. Negotiations with the German club are ongoing to get a deal for a new centre-forward done, bringing him to Anfield. 12:10Nathan Ridley Chelsea target £80m Rogers Chelsea want to sign ANOTHER former Manchester City academy star. The Sun report that Morgan Rogers is now top of Chelsea's shortlist after signing Jamie Gittens and Joao Pedro for a combined £111.5million in the past fortnight. But Aston Villa don't want to lose Rogers, 22, and have slapped an £80m price tag on the England international. The midfielder would join Gittens, Cole Palmer, Liam Delap, Romeo Lavia and Tosin Adarabioyo in playing for City at youth level and now being at Chelsea. Don't forget Enzo Maresca was at City, too. 11:31KEY EVENT FULL STORY: Liverpool to launch Ekitike bid Liverpool are in pole position to sign Hugo Ekitike with the player preferring a move to Anfield over Newcastle. The Reds will have to submit an offer of more than £70m as Eintracht Frankfurt rejected an offer from Newcastle for that sum earlier this week. But Liverpool have told the Bundesliga club that they are ready to bid for the player and are advancing in talks. Ekitike, 23, has decided he wants to move to Anfield and talks are moving swiftly. The Reds approached Frankfurt on Wednesday to register their interest and later informed the club they are ready to bid. Now the two sides are in open contact looking to do a deal. Read the full story on Ekitike here. 11:02Kit Mann WBA eye South Korea hitman West Bromwich Albion are plotting a raid on South Korea to sign winger Jeon Jin-woo. Albion are trying to land a deal for the K League's leading scorer from league leaders Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors. He's scored 12 goals this term but Albion are hoping to land the 25-year-old for less than £1.5m. 10:30Nathan Ridley Arsenal shatter women's transfer record Arsenal have completed the signing of Liverpool striker Olivia Smith in world-record £1million deal. Smith, 20, has signed a four-year contract with the European champions. The Canada international scored nine goals in 25 appearances for Liverpool, having joined from Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon last summer for just £200,000. The latest addition to the Arsenal family Olivia Smith is a Gunner — Arsenal Women (@ArsenalWFC) July 17, 2025 10:09Matthew Cooper FULL STORY: Gyokeres met with brutal fan message Sporting Lisbon fans have sent a brutal message to Viktor Gyokeres, with the striker closing in on a move to Arsenal. Gyokeres is desperate to join the Gunners and has essentially gone on strike to try and force through a transfer. There have been protracted negotiations between the two clubs and Mirror Football understands that Arsenal have submitted an improved offer that will see the player's agent take a vastly reduced cut. And Sporting fans have now made their feelings clear on the situation after displaying several banners aimed at Gyokeres during their first pre-season friendly against Celtic on Wednesday, which Brendan Rodgers ' side won 2-0. According to Portuguese outlet A Bola, the first banner read: "I don't cry for those who leave, I'm happy for those who stay." Another banner stated: "No one is above the club's interests, no matter who they are." Read the full story on Gyokeres here.

Morgan Gibbs-White makes Nottingham Forest transfer demand amid £60m Tottenham feud

Tottenham still have hopes of signing Morgan Gibbs-White despite Nottingham Forest threatening legal action over an "illegal approach" for the England international after triggering his £60m release clause Morgan Gibbs-White wants his future to be resolved before Nottingham Forest jet off to Portugal for their pre-season training camp. ‌ The 25-year-old is the subject of a furious transfer row after Tottenham activated his £60million release clause and thought they had snapped up the England international for a relative bargain. ‌ But Forest hit back and accused the North London side of an "illegal approach" and said they would be consulting their lawyers after concerns of a confidentiality breach relating to the player's release clause. ‌ Forest said they considered the move off for the time being after reporting Spurs to the Premier League and Gibbs-White has since returned to pre-season training with Nuno Espirito Santo's club. Gibbs-White has been showing an "exemplary attitude" in training despite the uncertainty over his future, as reported by the Daily Mail, but is still eager to link up with Thomas Frank's Tottenham. He held talks with Forest officials at the club's training ground on Monday and now wants clarity over where he will be playing his football next season. ‌ Gibbs-White is "hopeful" a solution can be found by the end of the weekend as Forest prepare for their first pre-season friendly against Monaco on Saturday. While in Portugal, Forest are set to play against Fulham and local side Estoril Praia. The report adds that the "ball is in Tottenham's court", with the Europa League champions weighing up a second bid worth around £65m - but it is unclear whether that would be enough to change Forest's minds. ‌ If no progress is made on a bid, Gibbs-White is expected to travel with Forest for their trip to Portugal. The team are set to stay in the country until August 1. They will return for games against Fiorentina and Al Qadsiah at the City Ground before their Premier League opener against Brentford on August 17. Frank would be eager to have Gibbs-White in his squad as soon as possible to get a full pre-season with the talented midfielder, who scored seven goals in the Premier League last season - assisting a further eight. His superb performances have also led to interest from Manchester City and he now has a total of four caps with England - with Thomas Tuchel calling him up for recent games against Andorra and Senegal. Spurs are hoping to make him their second major signing of the summer after already securing the signature of West Ham winger Mohammed Kudus for £55m.

The ten burning issues that Thomas Frank will be grilled over at his unveiling as Tottenham Hotspur's new head coach

THOMAS FRANK has his unveiling as Tottenham Hotspur boss on Friday - and he is sure to be grilled on a number of hot topics. From transfers in, to transfers out, to his upcoming Champions League campaign and becoming Daniel Levy's 14th permanent manager, the Dane will not be short of questions to answer. Then all hell broke loose. Advertisement READ MORE ON FOOTBALL Furious Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis cut all communication with Spurs and issued legal complaints to the North Londoners and Gibbs-White's representatives. Forest's objections cited breach of confidentiality over the release clause and effectively tapping-up the player as they had not given permission to speak with him. The fact that Gibbs-White is not a Spurs player yet raises questions over whether Tottenham have met all the conditions of the release clause. CASINO SPECIAL - BEST CASINO BONUSES FROM £10 DEPOSITS Advertisement Most read in Football His move has been left in limbo with Gibbs-White training with Forest in pre-season as normal. Frank is known to be particularly keen on the four-cap England man, admiring his dynamism in the No10 position and his versatility. Perhaps he can shed some light on the current state of play involving the transfer. CRISTIAN ROMERO is a World Cup winner and a massive influence in the Tottenham dressing room, especially with the South American contingent. He struggled with injury for a lot of last season but was a huge reason why Spurs went all the way in the Europa League. However, He reposted on X a damning claim that Spurs had not put on a chartered flight for him coming back from international duty, while he also publicly criticised the club's lack of spending compared to their rivals. Advertisement Most notable was a bombshell interview he himself had arranged late on in April where he claimed he wanted to play in La Liga one day, amid strong interest from Atletico Madrid. Romero has two years left on his contract and Spurs will not sell the £60million-rated defender on the cheap. Hearing Frank's thoughts on the situation will be fascinating. 3 - What's going on with captain Son Heung-min? SON HEUNG-MIN is understood to be open to calling time on his decade at the club this summer. Advertisement Having finally won a trophy after all that time, there is an understandable argument that this is a good moment to go out on a high. But whether it happens or not remains to be seen. 11 Son Heung-min finally got his hands on a trophy with the Europa League triumph Credit: Getty LAFC are very keen and Advertisement A switch to anywhere seems off the cards before Tottenham's tour to Seoul at the start of August at the very least - barring a stratospheric offer. Son, now 33, has one year left remaining on his contract but given the commercial revenue he brings in from being a godlike figure in South Korea, Spurs certainly will not let him go cheaply. Frank is well-stocked out wide, particularly following the £55m arrival of Mohammed Kudus, albeit his best position is more on the right side compared to Son's left. The Dane usually lives up to his last name in how honest he can be when speaking publicly - perhaps he will give a frank assessment over how he sees the situation surrounding his captain. Advertisement 4 - Will the club pursue another centre-forward? SPURS fans have been pleasantly surprised by the amount of money being spent - or trying to be spent, in Gibbs-White's case - so far this summer. It leads questions as to where the extra cash has come from, with talk of a significant injection from majority owners ENIC being the source. Despite the big-money moves for Kudus and Gibbs-White, Spurs have strong interest in Wissa, 28, has one year left on his Bees contract and would be a savvy signing given his versatility. Credit: PA 5 - The midfield FRANK may well opt not to reveal his hand over the formation he plans to employ. Advertisement But whether it is 4-2-3-1, 4-3-3 or 3-5-2, it is more than likely to involve three central midfielders - with two of them probably deeper-lying. This is interesting because holding midfield has been a problem position for some time for Spurs. First of all, given all the spending elsewhere, do Spurs have headroom to bring in a new No6? And if not, what about the players he has there now? Advertisement The club are keen to sign Yves Bissouma looked to be out the door for most of last season but then played a key role in the semi-final and final of the Europa League. He only has one year left on his deal though and has been linked to Fenerbahce and Juventus. Lucas Bergvall is likely to be a key man going forward but what about Archie Gray, the teenager Frank came close to signing at Brentford? Where will he play? Many, many questions about the middle of the park. Advertisement 11 Spurs have spent £5million on Japan rising star Kota Takai Credit: Getty 6 - Who will be on their way, either permanently or on loan? SPURS are back in the Champions League but have a big squad that needs trimming. At centre-back, for example, they currently have NINE different options if you include youngster Alfie Dorrington. Some players will surely go, either permanently like Bryan Gil, or on loan. Advertisement Decisions will have to be made about youngsters like Luka Vuskovic, a target for Bundesliga clubs, and Manor Solomon has also returned from a Championship-winning loan spell at Leeds, and Frank will give him a chance in pre-season, but if the Israeli does stay, his opportunities look like they will be limited given the vast array of competition. 7 - How does he stop Spurs' injury crisis? FIRST off, Frank will be asked for fitness updates on Spurs' current list of crocked players. Advertisement But there may well be more scrutiny on how exactly he plans to stop Spurs being derailed by injuries, as they have been for the last two seasons. Predecessor Ange Postecoglou was often accused of being part of the problem with his intense training and matches, but he would push back on that. For the second summer in a row, Spurs have made big changes to their medical department, suggesting they are not happy with the results they have been seeing. 11 James Maddison was one of many players injured last season Credit: Getty Advertisement 11 Destiny Udogie's Snapchat seemed to show 'long throw audition' as part of Spurs' training schedule 8 - Can fans now expect long throws? POSTECOGLOU often gave the impression he was not too fussed about set-pieces - but Frank certainly is. Dead-ball routines were a big part of his success at Brentford and he has already hired coach Andreas Georgson to focus on set pieces. No doubt they will look focus on a number of areas for that part of the game, and one in particular could be long throw-ins. Advertisement Can Frank confirm he is looking to go all Rory Delap? 9 - Is Daniel Levy's Champions League target realistic? LEVY made a bold claim earlier this summer when explaining his decisions behind sacking Postecoglou and hiring Frank. Winning the Europa League was not enough, Advertisement Given the club were revealed in February by the Deloitte Football Money League report to have had the lowest wage-to-turnover ratio in the division, is this feasible or deluded? While paying the most does not guarantee trophies - as Manchester United have found out - there is generally a correlation between bigger wages and success. In fairness, there was no timeframe put on Levy's ambitious goal, and Frank will obviously not criticise his boss in public even if he thinks differently. Still, it will be interesting to see how he reacts when that question is put to him. IT would be understandable if Frank did. Postecoglou may have had a nightmare league campaign - which was the justification Levy used when ruthlessly axing him in June. Advertisement But the Aussie did something no other manager has achieved in 17 years at Tottenham by winning a trophy, which is the be all and end all for a lot of fans. He also delivered the first European success in 41 years, giving supporters memories to last a lifetime. Frank will back himself to build on that success but are there any concerns at all now he is working for a man with a trigger-happy history?
