Rochester man hospitalized after sprint car crash
CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (WROC) – A man from Rochester was hospitalized Saturday evening after a sprint car crash at Land of Legends Raceway in Canandaigua. Deputies with the Ontario County Sheriff's Office say 54-year-old Gillbert Tegg Jr. struck a concrete barrier, causing the vehicle to overturn. Emergency crews extricated Tegg from the vehicle.
Tegg was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital. His injuries are serious but are not life-threatening. Deputies say a mechanical issue with the vehicle played a factor in the head-on crash. No one else was injured in the crash.
