12 things to do in Richmond this St. Patrick's Day weekend
St. Patrick's Day weekend in Richmond is finally here. May the luck of the Irish be with you.
Friday, March 14
🧀 Nothing says "Happy St. Patrick's Day" like a charcuterie workshop at Benchtop Brewing from Bite by Bite & Co. 6-8pm. $75.
🎶 Then there's an R&B tribute to Lauryn Hill and Brandy at the Tin Pan. Times vary. $35.
And Gimme Gimme Disco, an Abba-inspired dance party, at the Canal Club. 8pm. $18.
Saturday, March 15
☘️ Church Hill's Irish Festival is back. We're talking bagpipes, Irish dancing and corned beef basically all day Saturday and Sunday. 10am-6pm. $5 donation.
🍻 And who can forget Shamrock the Block? One of the largest outdoor festivals in Richmond will take over Scott's Addition once again. Noon-6pm. Free.
Its after party is at The Park with drink specials and DJs. 6pm-2am. Free.
But if you want to stay in Scott's Addition, River City Roll has its annual Parking Lot Party from noon-9pm — this time with more bars and bathrooms.
😏 It doesn't stop there. Siné's in Shockoe has a three-day "Who's Your Paddy" event from Saturday to Monday with green beer, bag pipes and party tents. Doors open at 11am on the weekend, 11:30am on Monday. Free.
You can also bounce around to the " Almost St. Patrick's Day" bar crawl that starts at Poe's Pub in Shockoe, hits Rosie Connolly's Pub and has food stops at La Bodega. 4-9pm. $15.
Sunday, March 16
The Oddities Expo at the Greater Richmond Convention Center is a festival self-described as "a peculiar paradise where weird thrives." 11am-7pm. Tickets start at $20.
And there's even more parties. O'Toole's — both the Forest Hill and Midlothian locations — have their annual St. Patty's celebrations starting at 11am Sunday (and Monday) with live music all night.
Forest Hill's parking lot will have tents up per usual. The bagpipers go on at 3pm and 7pm both days.
Monday, March 17
The bar crawls continue. This one starts at Bandito's. 5-11pm. $20.
