NMS girls seal CBSE Bahrain cluster basketball title
New Millennium School lifted the Girls' Basketball title for the fourth consecutive year in the CBSE Cluster (Bahrain Chapter) Inter-School competition. All CBSE schools in Bahrain participated in the annual event. NMS overwhelmed their opponents in the finals with a score of 18:0 emerging as winners. The NMS team members were : Ayati Subandh, Toshani Mukherjee, Izzah Shihab, Ameya Iyer, Diya Dixit, Zarah Sajid, Anya Dudeja, Isha Patil, Aadhya Girish, Sagarika Nayak, Disha Mangalpadi, Ruhin Dinesh. Chairman Dr Ravi Pillai, Managing Director, Geetha Pillai and Principal Dr Arun Kuumar Sharma congratulated the students and coach for the laudable achievement.

OBA and Belltel sign agreement to boost women's basketball in Oman
MUSCAT: The Oman Basketball Association(OBA) has signed a cooperation agreement with Belltel Company to support the women's national team and players in basketball training centres. The agreement includes providing support for women's teams across various categories, as well as assisting training centre players according to technical requirements set by the Association. This initiative aligns with the federation's strategy to strengthen partnerships with the private sector, contributing to the development and advancement of women's basketball. The signing ceremony took place at the OBA headquarters in the Oman Olympic Committee and Sports Association building. The agreement was signed by Eng Khalfan al Naabi, President of the OBA, and Malik al Khaldi, Chairman of Belltel Company. The event was attended by Said al Habsi, Chairman of the Competitions Committee and Acting Secretary-General, and Hiba al Naabi, Chairperson of the Women's Sports Committee at the OBA. The signing ceremony took place at the OBA headquarters in the Oman Olympic Committee and Sports Association building Malik al Khaldi, expressed his appreciation to the Oman Basketball Federation for the opportunity to support women's sports. He emphasised that the agreement aligns with the company's social responsibility efforts to support sports and youth development. He stated: "Our support for women's sports and basketball falls under our commitment to enhancing community sports, as sports programmes and activities play a vital role in societal development." He further noted that this agreement marks an initial step, with the possibility of expanding support to include other basketball-related activities in the future, depending on available opportunities. Al Khaldi also highlighted that the company supports other sports Association, such as the Tennis Association and Athletics Association, encouraging other companies to contribute to the development of sports in Oman, given its positive impact on fostering a healthy sporting community. OBA and Belltel sign agreement to boost women's basketball in Oman Strengthening Women's Basketball Presence Hiba al Naabi emphasised that this partnership represents a significant step in the federation's efforts to enhance collaboration with various sectors, particularly the private sector, to achieve its goals of promoting and developing basketball. She explained that the agreement is an extension of the Association's ongoing efforts to establish strategic partnerships supporting various competitions over the past years. She added that Belltel is one of the primary supporters of women's sports, having provided continuous support over the past three years. She stressed the importance of private sector contributions in advancing women's sports and called on other companies to engage in supporting basketball. Al Naabi also revealed that the federation is currently in talks with several private sector companies to sponsor the upcoming Girls' Basketball League, which is expected to launch in October. This initiative aims to further promote the sport across different age groups.
