, seriously injured in a road accident, was left waiting for hours as Madhya Pradesh's emergency health system collapsed around was returning from a wedding in Kailaras on Wednesday night, when a speeding passenger bus—coming from the wrong side—crashed head-on into his Scorpio SUV near Torka village.
The vehicle was mangled, and Dandotia sustained multiple fractures in his leg. Three others in the car were also was rushed to Morena District Hospital, where doctors referred him to Delhi AIIMS. But what followed was a shocking chain of failures. The hospital's two ambulances were unusable—one had no stepney, the other no headlight. An ambulance called from Gwalior met with an accident on the way, hitting a his condition, Dandotia was left without proper transport for nearly six hours. It was only at 1 AM that his son managed to hire a private ambulance from Gwalior and shift him to Ankit Asthana and former MLA Satyapal Sikarwar reached the hospital amid chaos. But repeated efforts to arrange transport through official channels failed. Supporters surrounded hospital authorities as frustration boiled is now admitted at Delhi AIIMS Trauma Centre.
