Iconic 90s band 'confirmed' as Glastonbury's secret Patchwork act
There are only two weeks to go until Glastonbury 2025 kicks off and festival fans think they've worked out who secret act Patchwork really is. Speculation has been growing about the various secret sets across Worthy Farm but it looks like this biggest lineup mystery has been 'confirmed'. Names like Haim, Harry Styles, Timothee Chalamet, Robbie Williams, and even Oasis have been mentioned as potential performers (despite Noel and Liam Gallagher distinctly saying no). However, it seems Patchwork's identity has been 'confirmed' by popular Glastonbury hint account SecretGlasto. According to the anonymous tip poster, none other than Pulp will be taking to the Pyramid Stage in that primetime slot of 6.15pm on Saturday, June 28. SecretGlasto shared a video of a patchwork quilt and someone using a sewing machine before cutting to clips of Jarvis Cocker and Pulp. Formed in Sheffield in 1978, Pulp grew in popularity in the mid-1990s, firstly with their 1994 album His 'n' Hers and its follow-up Different Class. In the background clips from recent interviews with the Common People hitmakers discussing Glastonbury — and Candida Doyle's love of Patchwork. While speaking to Jo Whiley, the 61-year-old musician shared: 'I used to do patchwork when I was on tour and I made a really nice bit of patchwork, that's all I can think of right now.' Then there's frontman Jarvis, 61, who confirmed he will be going to Glastonbury this year for a DJ set at the Stone Bridge bar. However, when pushed by Scott Mills about the possibility of taking to the Pyramid Stage, he said only in a 'life or death situation'. Fans have taken SecretGlasto's post as fact, with ruwise commenting on Instagram: 'So glad that Jarvis realised that it was a life or death situation for me.' 'Hope this is real?🙌' said kellyknox123 as miaandfam wrote: 'So Jarvis lied to me on @bbc6music then hey? 😮.' 'Better not be a stitch up,' added with some mystery still surrounding an account for Patchwork which has not been verified. 'Still dont think it's pulp…… on the 'patchwork' account the date is in american format….. would pulp say 'ya'll' on a post like americans do,' said shepherd_ali. Stuartbrown12 replied: 'That patchwork account could be run by anyone, the blue tick doesn't mean anything these days. Secret glasto is usually right about these things.' More Trending SecretGlasto does have a tendency to be correct, although not always — in 2023 they said James Acaster was doing a secret set but it was not the comedian. The popular account did apologise for the confusion, but we'll happily excuse one error every so often. Pulp have just returned with new music and a tour, although it is bittersweet as the band lost bassist Steve Mackey in 2023. The Babies hitmakers themselves have not confirmed anything, but they're unlikely to say either way until the big day — watch this space. Got a story? Glastonbury cuts ticket numbers and makes drastic Charli XCX plans
Glastonbury 2025 is due to get underway in just three weeks and some shocking changes have just been announced by organise Emily Eavis. This year's event has sold out but will not use its full 210,000 capacity as normal. Eavis has revealed that the number of festival goers allowed onto the site has been cut as an experiment after a surge in crowds for big name acts in recent years. "It'll be interesting just to see how that affects the dynamics on site," Emily Eavis told the BBC's Sidetracked podcast, adding that she wants to see if the reduction "can make an impact on some of the busier times". She revealed they have also created more room for the audience at the Other Stage, the festival's second-biggest arena, where Charli XCX is expected to attract a huge crowd when she headlines on the Saturday night.

Irish acts to watch at Glastonbury 2025
The fields of Worthy Farm are calling once again as Glastonbury 2025 gets underway from 25 - 29 June, and there's no shortage of Irish talent making the pilgrimage to the world's most iconic music festival. From breakout stars to festival legends, here are the Irish acts flying the tricolour at this year's Glasto. CMAT - Pyramid Stage, Friday, 1:30pm Kicking off the Irish invasion in style is CMAT, who lands a prestigious early slot on the Pyramid Stage. The alt-pop powerhouse from Dublin has had a whirlwind year - viral hits, festival buzz, and sell-out shows - and now she's bringing her cowgirl chaos to the biggest stage of them all. Expect sequins, sass and singalongs. The Script - Pyramid Stage, Saturday, 3pm The Script return to Glastonbury with a feel-good Saturday afternoon set that's bound to be a crowd-pleaser. Their back catalogue is festival gold (Breakeven, The Man Who Can't Be Moved, Hall of Fame), and with frontman Danny O'Donoghue leading the charge, Irish fans are expected to turn out in force. Kneecap - West Holts Stage, Saturday, 4pm Love them or loathe them, there's no ignoring Kneecap. The Belfast hip-hop trio are making their Glastonbury debut with a fiercely anticipated West Holts set. Known for their bilingual bars, political bite, and unapologetic stage presence, this is guaranteed to be one of the most talked-about performances of the weekend. Inhaler - Other Stage, Friday, 2:15pm Dublin rockers Inhaler, fronted by Elijah Hewson (yes, Bono's son), are carving out their own path - and their Glastonbury return marks another big step. With a slick indie sound and two acclaimed albums behind them, they'll light up the Other Stage on Friday afternoon. Snow Patrol - Other Stage, Sunday, 6pm Festival veterans Snow Patrol bring the weekend full circle with a golden hour slot on Sunday evening. The Northern Irish band's biggest hits (Chasing Cars, Run, Open Your Eyes) are practically made for emotional sing-alongs under a pink Glasto sky. Sprints - Other Stage, Friday (TBC) If you like your live music raw and raucous, don't miss Sprints. The Dublin punk-rockers are building serious buzz with their gritty sound and fearless lyrics. Early signs suggest a Friday slot on the Other Stage - perfect for an explosive start to the weekend. Acoustic Stage Irish Highlights Away from the main madness, Irish music lovers will find plenty of homegrown soul on the Acoustic Stage. The Coronas return with their feel-good indie anthems while the Hothouse Flowers are set to bring decades of musical magic. Singer-songwriters Oisín Leech and Lorraine Nash will offer stripped-back, heartfelt sets - ideal for lazy summer afternoons on the grass.

The Glastonbury 2025 app includes this one gamechanging new feature
It's nearly time for Glastonbury 2025 and mobile network Vodafone has revealed its updated Glastonbury phone app (available for iOS and Android) which is obviously a must-have if you're going to the festival. The app includes a few new features, but crucially there's one that's going to be a bit of a gamechanger for groups split across the vast 900 acre site. You're now able to live share your location with your friends, which is a huge improvement. OK, so apps like Apple's FindMy can do that already of course, but speaking from experience this is going to be very useful to be able to do this across friend groups when you split off to see different bands and other acts. And in particular it's going to be handy to work out where people are within a crowd in a situation where 'we're by the bar at the left of the stage' won't quite cut it. Another new feature is step count tracking which will be part of the 'My Highlights' post-Festival wrap, so you'll be able to compare to see who covered the most ground around the site. Vodafone is also making donations to its campaign depending on how many steps festival goers do. As before the app includes a customisable festival lineup so you can create your own schedule of acts to see and you'll get reminders before the various sets begin if you add an artist. There's also an interactive map so you can get to all the stages over the vast site that straddles Worthy Farm. This is now fully searchable, so you can find everything from water and the nearest toilets to different types of food on site. Naturally, you can also search for artists to find out when they're playing as well as browse an A-Z of them, too. And you can toggle between a timeline as well as a list view. Features including Spotify integration, shareable Line-Ups, and map pinning also return to help you make the most of the festival and find your tent/car. In an update, Shared Line-ups will now automatically update, so your friends will see the latest version. You can also get directions to Vodafone's Connect and Charge tent so you can keep your device juiced up. Speaking of power, Vodafone also has a plan there, too – you can pay £20 (plus £10 deposit) for a battery pack that you can exchange daily for a new one at three locations – the Connect and Charge tent in the Leftfield market as well as opposite San Remo and in the Worthy View Campsite. Vodafone says last year's version of the app saw 226,215 total downloads. 88.9% of downloads were from festival-goers attending Worthy Farm, while 11.1% were from people viewing at home. Data consumption at the festival hit over 225 terabytes last year.

All the clues and theories about who Glastonbury's mystery Patchwork band is
Metro confirmed recently Patchwork – billed to perform at this year's Glastonbury Festival – is not a 'geriatric' band from South London of the same name… You're welcome. So the question remains: who the hell is it? For the uninitiated, the Glastonbury 2025 line-up with all the stage times dropped yesterday, three weeks before the Worthy Farm opens its gates for another year for headline shows by The 1975, Neil Young and Olivia Rodrigo. Listed in the primetime slot of 6.15pm on Saturday June 28 on the coveted Pyramid Stage – between global superstar Raye and John Fogerty – is a mysterious band no one has ever heard of called Patchwork. This is Glastonbury organisers' idea of a funny tease, which will end up being a famous band or musician's surprise set. The same happened in 2023 when The Churn Ups turned out to be The Foo Fighters, who rocked out on the Pyramid Stage in what was an undisputed festival highlight. But Patchwork is not just a random word: it's a riddle. This is clear if The Churn Ups moniker was anything to go by; prior to Glastonbury 2023 fans linked it to the Foo Fighters, as lead singer Dave Grohl was in a band called Churn when he was a teenager. An X account also started dropping Foo Fighters references in the lead up to the festival. Now, an X account for Patchwork has also cropped up, so keep your eyes peeled for any hints in the coming weeks. But for now, fans have their own ideas about who Patchwork could be… Some fans think Harry Styles could be Patchwork, because, er, he wore a colourful patchwork cardigan once that everyone became obsessed with. The As It Was hitmaker, 31, sparked a TikTok trend of fans recreating his colourful jumper, which he wore in February 2020 while rehearsing. Tenuous, but possible… Just like the Foo Fighters teased they were behind The Churn Ups mystery in June 2023 on their socials, Candida Doyle from Pulp mysteriously talked about her love of patchwork in a recent interview with Jo Whiley, which seems kinda' random. 'I used to do patchwork when I was on tour and I made a really nice bit of patchwork, that's all I can think of right now,' she said… While it seems Pulp are rumoured most years for a Glastonbury surprise set, this year does seem feasible, as the Common People hitmakers have returned with their eighth studio album, More, scheduled to be released on June 6. Before Patchwork was mentioned, US sisters Haim were rumoured to be heading for a secret set at Glastonbury this year, after BBC Radio star Lauren Laverne hinted as much in her BBC Radio show. With their fourth album I Quit dropping in June after Women in Music Pt. II was released five years ago, it seems like a good time for Haim to descend on Worthy Farm. The band has a long history with the festival, having first played in 2013, before slots in 2014, 2017 and 2022. 'They've got summer shows coming up, one is Dreamland Summer Series in Margate on June 27,' Lauren noted on BBC6 Music, before adding: 'What else is happening that weekend? It's a long way to come to go to Margate, not that Margate isn't great…' Now the Patchwork clue is out, fans have pointed to a book of the same name by a writer called Sylvia Haim. However, it seems a little bit of a stretch as they might not be enough of a big deal to warrant the Patchwork tease. But that doesn't mean they won't fill one of the other secret set slots, simply billed at the moment as TBA. Just as with Haim, actor Timothee Chalamet was rumoured to be performing a secret set of Bob Dylan songs before the Patchwork tease. After he wowed critics with his performance as music icon Bob Dylan in the biopic A Complete Unknown, it was reported he is 'likely' to make a surprise appearance. However, this was not thought to be a Pyramid Stage outing, but one for the Acoustic Stage on the Saturday night. The Sun claimed he will appear alongside Dylan tribute band Not Completely Unknown. While that all seems likely, now Patchwork is teased, fans can't help but think of the Blowin' In The Wind hitmaker's famous patchwork jacket, which featured on the cover of his 1976 album, Desire. To add fuel to rumours, the Dune actor bought this very same patchwork jacket in March for over £20,000… While Oasis have said they will not be performing at Glastonbury this year, it would be a very Oasis thing to turn up for a surprise set anyway, wouldn't it? More Trending 'Despite media speculation, Oasis will not be playing Glastonbury 2025 or any other festivals next year,' the brothers said in October. After Noel and Liam Gallagher's years-long feud ended in a massive Oasis tour announcement last year, it's clear stranger things have happened. Where does Patchwork come into this, you may ask…? Well, they patched things up, didn't they? Yeah, okay. Perhaps wishful thinking has got the better of us. Got a story?
