The iconic chain will upgrade partially-munched treats from rival brands in order to weed out "dupes" of its Original Glazed product. For any who do have a dupe, thousands of free doughnuts will be up for grabs in all stores in the UK and Ireland on Friday, June 6 – National Doughnut Day. It has launched the amnesty after a survey of 2,000 adults revealed 73% of those who have bought "fake" food and drink items were left disappointed. Of the 49% who have bought a dupe, 79% said it was "not the same". And 72% would be willing to pay more money for an original or authentic product. A spokesperson for Krispy Kreme said: "They say imitation is the ultimate form of flattery, and we have seen many copies of our iconic doughnuts over the years. "But we all know a dupe is rarely as good as the real thing. "We want doughnut fans to enjoy the best of the best, so turn your backs on the dupes and stick with the original." In a further twist, the brand has also partnered with Lady Leshurr to release a diss track titled "We Run This Glaze" calling out dodgy doughnuts. The rapper, who has previously taken part in Celebrity Masterchef, Celebrity SAS Who Dares Wins and Dancing on Ice, has recorded the song taking aim at "fake" baked goods. Lady Leshurr said: 'For me, an original is always the best thing, whether that's music or doughnuts. 'You have to remind people who the originals are, otherwise history gets rewritten by the copycats.' It comes after the research, carried out via OnePoll, only 21% felt the dupes they bought were as good as the real thing, with 10% going as far as to say they were always disappointed. And 30% even claimed they sent a dupe back so they could go and get the original instead. A donut shop in Montgomery County is listed as one of the top 50 shops in the country. Donna's Delcious Dozen in Columbus ranked No. 8, and the Vegan Doughnut Company in Lakewood ranked No. 38. According to Yelp, all businesses listed were marked open and have a passing health score as of March 20, 2025. Having spent years in the aesthetics skincare advance laser industry, I noticed a huge gap in scalp health awareness, especially in the Middle East. While Korean beauty has revolutionised skincare globally, its scalp care rituals remain under appreciated. I was personally drawn to Korean scalp detox techniques, which go beyond superficial cleansing to focus on long-term scalp health. After travelling to south Korea and learning from top Korean specialists and receiving my Korean trichology diploma in Seoul, I saw an opportunity to bring this innovation to Dubai, a city where heat, humidity, and product buildup can wreak havoc on the scalp. What was your personal journey with scalp care, and how did it influence this business? I personally suffered from psoriasis, extreme dryness, inflammation, and hair thinning, which made me realise how overlooked scalp health truly is. Desperate for solutions, I tried countless treatments, both medical and alternative, but nothing provided lasting relief. This led me to explore alternative therapies, and that's when I came across Korean trichology. Unlike traditional hair care, Korean trichology focuses on scalp health as the foundation for strong, healthy hair. Experiencing multi-step scalp detox treatments firsthand was life-changing, they soothed my inflammation, reduced shedding, and restored balance to my scalp. This discovery sparked my passion for bringing these highly effective, science-backed techniques to Dubai through Glazed Aesthetics, ensuring that others struggling with similar issues could finally find real, lasting solutions. Can you walk us through a typical scalp detox treatment? We begin with an in-depth scalp analysis using state-of-the-art software to assess scalp condition (dryness, oiliness, sensitivity, or inflammation), hair diameter and density, and hair growth phase, resulting in a detailed report that informs a fully customised treatment plan. Based on this analysis, the treatment starts with scaling the scalp to remove buildup, dead skin cells, and excess oil, effectively resurfacing and resetting the scalp. It then progresses through advanced steps including scalp steaming to open follicles, deep-cleansing washes with customised therapeutic ingredients, nutrient infusions using targeted serums, LED light therapy to stimulate circulation and support hair growth, and a relaxing scalp massage with lymphatic drainage to enhance overall scalp health. We use 3D scalp and Skin scanners for in-depth analysis, oxygen therapy to nourish follicles, LED therapy for scalp rejuvenation, and microcurrent technology to enhance blood circulation. Combining traditional Korean scalp techniques with the latest advancements such as micro-needling and exosomes, ensures faster results, deeper penetration of active ingredients, and long-term scalp health.
