Project providing broadband throughout Bossier Parish awaits federal funding
BOSSIER PARISH, La. (KTAL/KMSS)—During Wednesday's Bossier Parish Police Jury meeting, ConnectLA shared information about increasing broadband accessibility in the parish.
According to information provided by Bossier Parish, about 6,500 locations in Bossier Parish lack internet service. However, funding for the upgrades has been allocated from the state's Gumbo 2.0 infrastructure bill, which is awaiting the release of federal funding to complete.
'I'm excited that we are in the final chapter where everyone in the parish can finally have high-speed internet,' Bossier Parish Police Jury President Glenn Benton said.
