Princess Sabeeka Global Award for Women's Empowerment Recognized as a Key Development Initiative

His Excellency Ahmed bin Salman Al-Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, has praised the Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Global Award for Women's Empowerment, describing it as a successful and vital development initiative. He emphasized that the award highlights the prestigious international standing achieved by Bahraini women and their active contributions to the country's comprehensive development journey under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He commended the efforts of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women, in launching the third edition of the Global Award for Women's Empowerment. The launch coincides with Bahrain's Silver Jubilee celebrations marking the 25th anniversary of His Majesty King Hamad's accession to the throne. Al-Musallam further noted that parliamentary diplomacy prioritizes the global award in its external engagements, recognizing its significance in advancing women's role in sustainable development. The award underscores the contributions of governments, corporations, civil society organizations, and experts in empowering women and girls worldwide. He highlighted the sustainable achievements of Bahraini women and the continuous efforts to share these success stories on an international scale. He stressed the importance of promoting best practices that enhance women's global standing and contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those related to gender equality. The Supreme Council for Women remains committed to reinforcing women's participation in all developmental sectors, acknowledging them as strategic partners in decision-making, work, and progress. The Speaker also lauded Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka's influential role in advocating for women's empowerment both regionally and globally. Through this prestigious award, Bahrain has established a global platform that encourages innovation and creativity in women's empowerment initiatives, motivating institutions and individuals to develop programs that support women's advancement across various sectors. Additionally, Al-Musallam acknowledged the Supreme Council for Women's instrumental role in achieving ambitious goals for women's progress. He reaffirmed the Council of Representatives' commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Supreme Council for Women through joint efforts, proposals, and initiatives aimed at enhancing women's opportunities in diverse fields and sectors.
