Health Ministry: Over 16,000 Children Killed Since Start of Israeli War

DaysofPal- The Ministry of Health in Gaza has reported that more than 16,278 children have been killed since the beginning of the Israeli genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, averaging one child killed every 40 minutes. The grim figure was announced during the launch of the Global Campaign in Solidarity with the Children of Gaza held on Monday. The ministry warned that Gaza is facing unprecedented health and humanitarian catastrophes, with no time left for international actors to delay intervention. According to the ministry, 311 children were born and killed during the war, highlighting the inescapable danger facing newborns and infants under constant siege. The ongoing blockade has deprived over 2 million residents of food, clean water, and medical supplies for more than two months. The ministry said that 51% of essential maternal and child health medications are now unavailable, including therapeutic supplements, vitamins, and routine vaccinations. Among the most alarming concerns is the continued prevention of polio vaccine entry, threatening the region's already fragile public health infrastructure. Malnutrition and medical complications have now claimed the lives of at least 57 children, and the numbers continue to rise. The ministry also documented the deaths of children in targeted bombings of charitable institutions, stating that some were killed while trying to obtain food rations. During the conference, Gaza's health authorities appealed to 'the free people of the world' to take urgent action to stop the war of extermination and famine, calling on health and humanitarian organizations, media professionals, and activists to rally behind the children of Gaza. 'This is no longer a matter of solidarity,' the ministry said. 'It is a call to rescue a generation on the brink of annihilation.' Shortlink for this post:
