SATExpo 2025 to launch in Dubai under UAE Space Agency patronage

As the MEASA region experiences expansion, the satellite industry estimates a global market size of USD 35.95bn by 2030. Dubai is set to become a global focal point for space innovation as SATExpo makes its debut from May 13 to 15, 2025, at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC). Under the patronage of the UAE Space Agency and co-located with CABSAT, the premier media, broadcast and satellite industry event in the region, SATExpo 2025 aims to establish itself as a pivotal platform for cutting-edge advancements, collaboration, and innovation in the satellite and space sectors. The inaugural event will bring together more than 100 international exhibitors and over 8,000 professionals, including key decision-makers, engineers and thought leaders. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore the latest breakthroughs, share insight, and shape the future of satellite and space technology. The exhibition will feature next-generation satellite systems and innovations in space exploration, underscoring the transformative technologies driving the industry forward. Aligning with the UAE’s National Space Strategy 2030, which aims to foster a sustainable and competitive space sector, the country has seen rapid expansion in its space industry. In 2020, space service and application contracts surged by 40%, alongside increased investment in space-related education and training. SATExpo is expected to further accelerate this momentum by supporting the development of space and satellite services across the Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA) region. The event will provide a crucial platform for industry specialists and buyers to network, showcase innovations, and foster collaborations that will drive technological progress across various industries. SATExpo will serve as a hub for next-generation solutions in satellite connectivity, Earth observation, remote sensing and situational awareness. It is set to reinforce the UAE’s status as a leader in satellite communications, creating opportunities for engagement with industry executives, policymakers, technical experts and innovators from around the world. According to the Global Satellite Market report, the industry, valued at USD 17.94bn in 2024, is projected to reach USD 35.95bn by 2030, reflecting a CAGR of 12.3%. Additionally, the number of satellites launched worldwide is forecast to rise from 3,154 in 2024 to 5,048 by 2030, with a CAGR of 8.2%. The growing demand for global connectivity, particularly in remote regions, is a key driver of this expansion, emphasizing the need for satellite-based communication and internet services. Alex Nicholl, Vice President, New Industries of Dubai World Trade Center, said: 'SATExpo debuts as a premier worldwide platform for industry players, shedding light on an extensive range of specialised services from advanced remote sensing and earth observation to state-of-the-art comms-on-the-move solutions and sophisticated data analytics. The exhibition also features a buyers’ programme, an innovation hub for startups, specialised conferences and dedicated networking opportunities. Furthermore, we are honoured to have the UAE Space Agency as the patron of the exhibition, underscoring our shared commitment to fostering a robust and independent space and satellite ecosystem.' Alex Nicholl added: 'Additionally, building on our 40 years of legacy and expertise in facilitating impactful business connections, the exclusive Concierge Programme at SATExpo will set an ideal stage to forge strategic partnerships among international leaders, key opinion leaders, policymakers and corporate executives.' The inaugural edition is set to host a vast network of corporate buyers, industry leaders, government delegations and decision-makers, contributing to the evolution of satellite services. Key sectors represented at the event will include defence, agriculture, transport and logistics, oil and gas, mining, environmental monitoring, government and telecommunications. The exhibitor lineup boasts industry leaders and innovators, including AsiaSat, Eutelsat, Intellian, Intelsat, Kratos, NexGenWave, Neo Space, Nilesat and Space Bridge, among others.
