Pakenham trainer and UK expat Charlotte Littlefield dares to dream of Royal Ascot-Glorious Goodwood campaign with She's Bulletproof
Charlotte Littlefield has an early and light spring set for sprinter She's Bulletproof, as part of a long-range Royal Ascot-Glorious Goodwood homecoming dream. The Group 1 -placed She's Bulletproof is well into pre-training now after a welcomed two-month break. Pakenham-based UK expat Littlefield, who grew up in Goodwood, has Australian Group 1 aspirations first ideally for Oakleigh Plate runner-up She's Bulletproof. 'We'll be certainly targeting the early part of spring with her,' Littlefield said. 'Whether we go to Sydney or stay in Melbourne and aim at something like the Moir Stakes. She's Bulletproof has won four of 13 starts and placed on seven occasions. The rising five-year-old broke out last campaign with a Group 3 win and slashing Group 1 second in the Oakleigh Plate. A wet track thwarted Group 1 William Reid Stakes (1200m) ambitions although She's Bulletproof, placed fifth, had by them come to the end of her campaign. Asfoora placed second in the 1005m sprint last year. 'I went there (Goodwood twilight races) with my mum and stepdad growing up,' Littlefield said. 'Had my one pound on each race and to be honest I had no … care in the world if we won. 'It was so fun to see the horses and jump up and down and scream. That was my little thing as a kid, I used to love going to Goodwood. 'To win at Goodwood, in a Group race, would mean more than a Group 1.' The five-day Royal Ascot Carnival starts on Tuesday night (AEST). Melbourne Cup -winning jockeys James McDonald and Mark Zahra will ride at Royal Ascot while champion trainer Ciaron Maher has new acquisition, Yulong-bought Carl Spackler – a multiple Grade 1 American star with Cox Plate ambitions – in the Group 1 Queen Anne Stakes on Tuesday.

ISLE OF LISMORE (3.23 Ascot, nb) Won one of the divisions of this race last season and is back to defend his title from 1lb lower in the handicap. He was just two lengths off the pace on comeback at Newmarket earlier this month and should be much fitter today. We know this trip and track are right up his street. MYTHICAL GUEST (4.30 Ascot, treble) Blew away the cobwebs with a highly encouraging third on the Rowley Mile two weeks ago. He stays over his ideal trip and can has dropped nicely down the weights. Andrew Balding's daughter of Sea The Stars should be better than ever this season despite doing really well as a three-year-old. She went close in a quartet of Group 1 contests, finishing second in the Nassau at Glorious Goodwood and going well in the Sun Chariot before ending the campaign with a creditable effort in the Champion Stakes at Ascot. Balding dropped her out of the highest grade just once and that saw her land a comfortable win in the Group 3 Strensall Stakes at York in August. That was all the better because she showed good pace when coming from out the back. This 1m2f trip is ideal and she won't mind if there's a bit of juice in the ground. This is a decent contest with the classy Almaqam and Winter Derby winner Royal Champion lining up but Oisin Murphy's mount can get the job done. FAIRLAWN FLYER (2.05 Perth, nb) Can take the marathon Highland National in front of the ITV cameras. He looks ideal for this stamina test after getting up right on the line at Huntingdon last time. He wasn't stopping at the end of 3m5f at Market Rasen two runs ago when winning with plenty pf petrol left in the tank. He's a solid jumper with more to come. The Bowens can reap the rewards after their long journey from south Wales. DANCING GEMINI (3.00 Sandown, treble) Clocked a blistering time when winning the Listed Doncaster Mile on comeback last month. He was quicker than last year's winner Charyn who went on to lift this prize.
