Kym Marsh shares poignant post as she continues to move on from latest heartache
Singer-turned-actress Kym Marsh took to her social media platform to share a message of support to her close friend and to pay tribute to a special person in her life
Former Coronation Street actress Kym Marsh paid tribute to an important person in her life as she continues to move on from her former toyboy partner. The singer, 48, shared her support of her friend, who ran a 10k race on Saturday for Mind charity.
She uploaded a snap of her holding a banner which read: "Go Olliver's Army." Kym explained how her friend had took part in the run "in memory of her wonderful son Olliver". The star then pleaded with her followers to donate to the cause. She also shared the link to the fundraiser on her post.
It comes after the 48-year-old singer-turned-actress took to her Instagram to share a heartfelt message hours earlier. On her Stories, the former Hear'Say singer paid tribute to her dad, who died in January last year. The 78-year-old died after a long battle with prostate cancer.
Kym simply shared an image of her late dad sitting on a wall with yachts in the background. She captioned her post "Miss you dad," followed by six crying emoji faces.
Kym is currently on stage performing Abigail's Party. She described it as "such a pleasure" to be part of the productions on Monday. Taking to her Instagram grid, she told followers to come and see the show before it disappears.
Sharing backstage images from the performances, as well as action shots, Kym wrote: "Can't believe we finish on Saturday!! Only 5 more shows left! It's been such a pleasure to get to work every day with this wonderful bunch!!! Oh how I will miss it when it's over!
"If you haven't been to see us yet, make sure you get yourselves down before it's too late! Tickets on sale for Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Follow the link in my bio!"
Last month Kym admitted she will never marry again after splitting up from her toyboy boyfriend earlier this year. Kym who has been married three times, met actor, Samuel, after she split up from her third husband, Scott Ratcliff. Fans thought the 29-year-old, who is the same age as Kym's eldest child, David Cunliffe, may propose, but the romance wasn't to last.
And now it's all over, Kym insists she will never walk down the aisle again. Speaking to the Independent about her future plans, Kym said it's a case of "three strikes and I'm out".
Before she married soldier, Scott, Kym had been dating fellow soap star, Hollyoaks actor Jamie Lomas. The pair married in 2012, but they sadly split up just two years later.
Prior to that she had walked down the aisle with EastEnders star, Jack Ryder. The pair had met in a canteen at the BBC when he was working on the soap and Kym was making an appearance on Top Of The Pops with her pop group Hear'Say.
Just a year later, in 2002, the duo decided to tie the knot, with them saying their 'I do's' in front of their friends at St. Alban's Parish Church. The marriage lasted for six years, before it was revealed in March 2008 that they had separated and were to divorce. Over a year later, the couple finally announced their official separation had been finalised.
