Ozzy Osbourne has been working in the rock world for decades – well over half a century at this point – and while retirement may be on the horizon, he's not done just yet. The heavy metal icon continues to release new music, and even score hits. He earns yet another smash on the radio in America, thanks to a recently-released team-up that's been building momentum throughout much of 2025. Now. it's become another big winner for Osbourne and his frequent collaborators.
Osbourne's current single 'Gods of Rock N' Roll' breaks into the top 10 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Airplay chart this frame. The tune lifts from No. 11 to No. 10, reaching the highest tier on the ranking after a steady climb. The cut is credited to Billy Morrison, Steve Stevens, and Osbourne, with Morrison leading the charge on the release.
As 'Gods of Rock N' Roll' reaches the top 10, Osbourne adds to his total number of huge wins. He's now claimed 23 top 10 hits on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart as a solo artist. Among those are four No. 1s, and he's landed on the tally 41 times throughout his career. At this point, more than half of his solo entries have made it into the uppermost region.
The Mainstream Rock Airplay chart tracks the most-played tracks on rock radio stations across the U.S. that lean toward the harder side of the genre — a space where Osbourne has always thrived, and one that he even helped develop.
As 'Gods of Rock N' Roll' ascends on one rock-focused ranking, it's falling on another. This frame, the song slips from No. 20 to No. 23 on the Rock & Alternative Airplay chart. That's the only other Billboard tally where the single currently appears.
'Gods of Rock N' Roll' has charted on both the Mainstream Rock Airplay and Rock & Alternative Airplay lists for nearly the same amount of time. The track has now racked up eight weeks on the former, compared to seven on the latter.
It's worth highlighting that the composition is still gaining ground on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, even after nearly two months. It's spent the most time on that list, and yet it's ascent is ongoing, while it's already turned around on the roster where it's spent the least amount of time.
For now, 'Gods of Rock N' Roll' appears to be a standalone release led by Morrison. It follows 'Crack Cocaine,' a 2024 single that also featured both Stevens and Osbourne. That tune climbed all the way to No. 2 on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, narrowly missing out on becoming a No. 1 smash.
