Gogglebox family announce heartbreaking death as fans pay tribute
Gogglebox star Tom Malone Jr and his family have announced the death of their beloved pet dog, Bob the Rottweiler. The Manchester-based Malone family have been regularly joined by their dogs during a decade-long tenure on the Channel 4 programme. Joining the show in 2014, the family unit originally consisted of dad Tom, mum Julie and siblings Tom Jr and Shaun, plus a rotating cast of Rottweilers which included Lucy, Dave, Izzy, Joe and Bob. Sadly, Lucy died in 2022, and Dave in 2023. The Malones have now revealed that they were forced to bid farewell to Bob this weekend, with former Goggleboxer Tom Jr taking to social media to share the sad news. Tom Jr left the programme in 2021 to pursue new career opportunities, including freelance modelling and street dance choreography. As he and his family shared the news, fans were full of love and support for the grieving Malones. 'Good boy Bob….Rest easy big man 🐾 🕊️' wrote Tom Jr as he shared a series of pictures and videos of himself with the beloved pooch. Meanwhile, mum Julie also posted several pictures of Bob – including one of him wearing a tuxedo – writing: 'Today we sad goodbye to our beautiful protective Bobby , he spent his last day doing what he loved , watching over the Grandchildren playing in the garden .We are heartbroken 💔 RIP our beautiful Big Bob xx' In the comments beneath these posts, viewers posted messages of tribute to the telly dog. 'Sending lots of love, Dave was waiting for him and they're playing together now 🌈🐶' wrote kirstybleese 'I'm so sorry. 💔 It never gets easier it's so hard losing all the most beautiful little souls. They are children. You'll meet again at the rainbow bridge🌈❤️' said moveinonup 'So sorry to hear of Bobby's passing. Sending lots of love and hugs 💔' said gemmadodds. Fans were also joined by other members of the Gogglebox cast, including Ellie Warner, who penned: 'So sorry to hear about Bobby ❤️ run free over the rainbow bridge xxx' Ellie's sister Izzie chimed in: 'Sending you all lots of love ❤️❤️xxx' Meanwhile, Mica 'Big Meesh' Ven shared a heartbreak emoji. 'Sending you all so much love!!💔😢🌈' said Georgia Bell. The fan favourite Malone clan are well-known for frequently having one of their many dogs at their side on the show. As well as the six appearing Malones, the family also consists of siblings Lee and Vanessa, who don't appear on the show. More Trending Bodybuilder Lee runs a property renovation business and lives with wife Sarah and son Grayson, while NHS nurse Vanessa has three children, Brogan, Saoirse and Carsen. In 2022, the Malones shared the sad news that Rottweiler Lucy had died, posting a picture of dad Tom Sr kissing her on the forehead. Confirming the sad death, he captioned the series of photos: "Good boy Bob….Rest easy big man." One fan commented underneath the snap: "Sending the family love." Before someone else added: "There are no words my fiend, seeing so much love to you all, I'm so sorry xx." As a third added: "He's up there with dave." Dave was the Malone family's other pet pooch who usually sat with them as they tuned into that week's television. Dave passed away in October 2023.
