Black Americans Guess Caribbean Dishes.
Today we're guessing caribbean dishes. Three panelists—all black—will taste and try to guess a host of meals hailing from the West Indies. Everyone will receive one point for the correct country and another for the correct name of the dish. The person with the most points wins! BuzzFeed Let's get started! We started out slow and gave our panelists Jamaican beef patties while they were blindfolded. This should be BuzzFeed Homegirl really said "hotpocket." Close, but no cigar! Some folks gave up immediately, but our boy Isiah was the only one who guessed correctly. Shout out to his Golden Crust education. Triana wasn't even sure if what she was eating was beef or squash. BuzzFeed Isiah is currently in the lead with 2 points! Onto the next dish—smashed green plantain from Haiti. BuzzFeed Do you know how many Caribbean countries have mashed and fried green plantains?? Damn near all of them. This is definitely a set up. BuzzFeed Isiah got a point immediately. His nose is primed to the plaintain. BuzzFeed The girls are currently thinking it's a fruit or veggie, but can't pinpoint which one. OMG! Lauren saying it's not plantain! She's so close. Go with your gut, babes! BuzzFeed / Via As expected, everyone guessed plantain. It's such an iconic starch. Isiah gets two points for correctly guessing the country, so he's currently in the lead.
