Crews from The National Weather Service went to The Acreage on May 13, assessing whether a tornado touched down in the rural community in Palm Beach County's western suburbs the night before. Residents on a community forum reported property damage from a possible tornado in the area of Hall and Orange boulevards, just north of the city of Westlake. A tornado spawned by Hurricane Milton damaged neighborhoods in Wellington, The Acreage, Palm Beach Gardens and Jupiter Farms in October. That storm damaged homes, cars and trees and forced the demolition of a Publix supermarket under construction in the Palm Beach Gardens community of Avenir. 'So strong and so fast': 140-mph tornado upends Avenir as Hurricane Milton neared Florida In The Acreage, the tornado downed trees near Golden Grove Elementary School on 140th Avenue North and punched a hole in the roof of Horizons Baptist Church at Orange Boulevard and 130th Trail North. A spokesperson for the weather service that more details regarding storms on May 12 will be released after the team finishes its assessment.
