Holyoke organization hosts ‘Golden Prom' for 50+ community
HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – One local organization is proving that prom season is not just for high school students.
A night many will never forget, it wasn't your average 'senior' prom, but those in attendance got to let loose and enjoy every moment. To those young at heart, everything is fun.

Nonprofit organization Enlace de Familias hosted the 'Golden Prom' Saturday night in Holyoke, with some reliving prom memories and others experiencing it for the first time.
'I needed to go out for a few hours and enjoy myself for a change,' said Elizabeth Alicea of Holyoke.
A free event dedicated to gathering the 50+ community, the organization made sure that no matter where you are in life, you can still make time for a good time.
With music, dancing, and entertainment, attendees said they were glad they could just stop by for something different and have a good time.
'When I graduated from high school, even college, I never went to mine,' said Millie Lozada of Holyoke. 'So this is my time now.'
'It's hoping to be a yearly event for individuals all over western Mass.,' said Frank Martinez, Executive Director of Enlace de Familias.
In June, Enlace de Familias plans to host the Western Mass Youth Conference. 400 students will have the opportunity to learn about leadership, with a chance to win over $20,000 in prizes, including laptops and scholarship funds. For more information, visit
