Max Kennedy bounces back to keep victory hopes alive in brutal Brittany test
The Dubliner (23) heads into the final round tied for the lead with England's James Morrison after battling tough conditions at punishing Golf Bluegreen de Pléneuf Val André.
They share a one-stroke advantage over Frenchman Robin Sciot-Siegrist on six-under.
Rookie Kennedy, who followed a ten under par course record 60 on Thursday with a six over 76, was pleased to bounce back and give himself a chance to notch his first professional victory.
'The first round was phenomenal, and golf felt very easy at that point,' Kennedy said.
'The second round I was all over the place but had to grind hard to shoot six over.
'I played some great golf today in very difficult conditions and luckily, I'm still in the hunt.
'I knew I was hitting it quite well and I managed to stay in the zone. I had to really take the ball flight down and I hit some great shots into the wind.'
Co-leader Morrison shot 74 as high winds made scoring difficult on a coastal layout where just nine players are under par with a round to go.
'It was very tricky today and plus four is really the equivalent of level par today,' Morrison said.
'The course was brutal, and it felt like the US Open of HotelPlanner Tour golf.
'Accuracy was so important today because it's so firm, so windy and if you hit anywhere offline you are in the bush.
'It would mean everything to win tomorrow. I'm very proud of myself to get back to where I am today and I'm going to go out there and give it my best on the final day.'
Kilkenny's Mark Power was one of many players to suffer as he saw two birdies cancelled out by two bogeys, three double bogeys and an opening triple bogey seven.
A nine-over 79 left the former Walker Cup star (25) tied for 52nd on eight over.
