Man fatally shot in Baton Rouge gas station robbery
BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating after a man was shot and killed in a suspected robbery.
According to police, early Friday morning, officers were called to a gas station in the 7200 block of Airline Highway in response to a reported shooting.
Upon arrival, officers learned an unknown Black man had robbed and shot 30-year-old Alejandro Gonzales-Martinez before fleeing the scene on a bike.
Gonzales-Martinez was taken to a hospital, where he later died of his injuries.
The suspect has not been identified. No further details were immediately available.
This is an ongoing investigation.
