Olivia Rodrigo surprised the crowd at the Governors Ball near the end of her performance by introducing David Byrne.
Olivia Rodrigo showed her love for music from the '90s in a special way at the Governors Ball in New York. She invited David Byrne, the well-known singer from Talking Heads, to join her on stage for a special set. Together, they performed the band's hit song from 1983, Burning Down the House, for which Olivia wore a red outfit and David matched her with a red jumpsuit over a white T-shirt. They danced to the song's signature moves while singing and running around the stage. The performance happened after the festival was delayed because of bad weather, but the energy on stage made the wait worth it.
According to People, Olivia surprised the crowd near the end of her performance by introducing a special guest. She told the audience how happy and proud she was to share the stage with music legend David. After their energetic performance together, Olivia ended the show with her hit song, Deja Vu. But the concert wasn't over yet, she came back on stage and performed fan favourites like Brutal, Good 4 You, All American Bh and Get Him Back.
Olivia Rodrigo isn't the only young artist to perform the 1983 hit track in recent years. Hayley Williams and her band Paramore also recorded their version of the song. Their cover was part of a special album called Everyone's Getting Involved, which is a tribute to the music of David's band. The album was released last year and features many popular artists, including Miley Cyrus and Lorde.
After the Governors Ball, Olivia is now getting ready to perform for her fans at the BST Hyde Park concert in London on June 27. Just two days later, on June 29, the singer will perform at the famous Glastonbury Festival. She will be one of the main headliners at the event, where she'll be sharing the spotlight with other major artists like Neil Young and The 1975.
To celebrate 50 years since their first-ever show at New York's legendary CBGB venue, Talking Heads released a fresh music video for their classic track Psycho Killer. The video features actress Saoirse Ronan, who brought a new twist to the song.
