Jonesborough remembering Memorial Day with ceremony, movies
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) – Tennessee's Oldest Town is honoring fallen veterans throughout the upcoming Memorial Day weekend. Monday's Memorial Day ceremony runs from noon to 2:00 p.m. with live performances, a veteran-owned food truck and free movies at the Jackson Theatre. Catch 'Sergeant York' at 3 p.m. and 'Hacksaw Ridge' at 7 p.m. on Monday. 'Patton' will be shown at 3 p.m. the following Sunday. Tickets are free, but need to be reserved in advance. T. Applications open for Elizabethton's ‘Youth Business Fair'
ELIZABETHTON, Tenn. (WJHL) – The Town of Elizabethton is ready to help young business owners in the making during its annual 'Covered Bridge Days' festival. Entrepreneurs ages 7 to 18 have the chance to show off their business this fall at the event. The application is open now, and spaces are limited. There are no booth fees and the kids keep 100% of the earnings. The deadline to register is Sept. 5. Erwin Utilities to continue ‘Lunch and Learn' series

Hampton High School to host fundraiser for senior class
HAMPTON, Tenn. (WJHL) – Hurricane Helene has made this school year anything but normal for students of Hampton High School, but you can help them have an incredible prom. The annual 'Senior Class Yard Sale' is April 4 and 5 in the Keenburg gymnasium. Doors will open Friday, April 4, at 4 p.m. and close at 7:30 p.m. The hours for April 5 will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. If anyone would like to donate items to the sale, you're asked to drop them off at the school on April 4. The Lady Bulldogs basketball team will also host a breakfast fundraiser at Keenburg on April 5 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tickets are $6 and can be purchased at the door. Sycamore Shoals to celebrate historic treaty anniversary with event at the park
ELIZABETHTON, Tenn. (WJHL) – Sycamore Shoals State Historic Park is preparing to recognize a big milestone. This weekend, the park will commemorate the 250th anniversary of a historic treaty. The day-long event is happening Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the park (1651 W Elk Ave, Elizabethton). There will be demonstrations and the living history areas will be open. The program regarding the treaty will begin after a brief picnic. Officials with the park told News Channel 11 that the event is great for all ages and free to attend.
