Hear the full conversation on 'Good Word with Goodwill' and subscribe on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube or wherever you listen. View more Video Transcript It would behoove the Golden State Warriors to get this series done with on Friday. Advertisement You do not want to go back to Houston for a game seven where any damn thing can happen. For a veteran team, I was extremely disappointed with how they came out. I think we, they fell behind like 46, 24, and it was just, it was one of those like, come on guys. Like, you generally don't benefit by giving games away. If you're the Warriors, you do not want to go back to Toyota Center for Game 7, you do not want to have that environment, you know, you, you've got them where you want them. Like, Houston's gonna have to go into a tough environment as a young team and try to grind out a road win under the most dire. Advertisement circumstances like with their butts on the line. Can they do that? Houston, they don't have a closer. Jalen Green was on the bench the last minute to game 4, and Fred Van Vleet was the one trying to carry him. They are a fraudulent second seed. The Oklahoma City is looking at them and going, that's the 2nd best team in the West? Oh, OK. But They can sneak out a win in, in, in, in San Francisco and bring it on home, and then that becomes anything goes. And, and at this point for the Warriors to blow a 3-1 lead in the first round and lose that series, they're right back in the category as the Lakers of, OK, what do we do now? Advertisement Steph, Draymond, this is the, the final days. And if you, you know, you would, there's gonna be a lot of questions if they bought a 3-1 lead, and a lot of questions about the future if they can't overcome this and win this series.

Timberwolves' fixes for Game 2 start with Anthony Edwards
Yahoo Sports senior NBA reporter Vincent Goodwill and fantasy analyst Dan Titus discuss Minnesota's Game 1 loss to Golden State and what the team needs to do to even the series at one a piece. Hear the full conversation on 'Good Word with Goodwill' and subscribe on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube or wherever you listen. View more Video Transcript The Timberwolves played. Advertisement One of the most undisciplined, poorly constructed on the floor, not from the game plan. I've never seen a more grown-up team play immature. And if we're gonna start somewhere, it has to start with Anthony Edwards, right? Because we gave Anthony Edwards a lot of credit for how he played against the Lakers and face of the league and everything else. And then that deciding game 5 against the Lakers, he was like 0 for 9 from 3. And then he started this one, just 0 for everything and didn't, didn't score a point, a field goal until like 8 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter and you're already down and you're at home and you're supposed to set the tone. Advertisement And his coach called him out. Chris Finch actually called him out like I think Ant's going to drop a bomb on the Warriors in game 2. But if they lose this series, they're going to point back to this one, Dan, and say, we lost the series because we did not approach game one with the proper attitude. Yeah, I mean, if you just look across the board, not only Anthony Edwards' lack of effort, which was what Finch was talking about. Um, for much of the first half cause he sets the tone. And if he's not, if he's not gonna be able to set the tone, who will? Julius Randall, he struggled from the field when he shot like 4 for 11, really only made his, his game was made on the, at the free throw line, but I'm looking at the vets, man. Advertisement Mike Conley, 0 for 5. Look at Dante Di Vincenzo, 4 turnovers in 32 minutes. That's uncharacteristic. That's, that's lack of discipline and those are the guys that you're expecting to To step up and play. If it isn't playing well, you have somebody else to kind of step in there. But if they're not playing well, I mean, I'm just looking at, you know, 19 assists to 16 turnovers. When the Warriors turn you over like that and you're not moving the ball, that, that's a victory for them. So you're just making it easy for them. They already lost their best player. You gotta rally around that, lock in, move the ball, get others involved and play smart basketball, and they just weren't doing that. And, and that's why they lost.
