Govt struggling to clear dues of ‘Ladki Bahin' scheme
Nashik: NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar said on Saturday that the state govt was struggling to provide funds for Mukhya Mantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana. He said that the govt had diverted funds from other departments to the accounts of beneficiaries of the scheme. He advised the govt to increase its income sources for successful implementation of the scheme. Pawar held a meeting with party office-bearers and functionaries in Nashik. Briefing the media, Pawar said, "Before the elections, they promised to give Rs 1,500 to the 'ladki bahin' (sisters) in the state and started giving it. But sustaining it is a different thing, and after coming to office, they are now finding it difficult." "Govt should boost its income to finance the scheme, as the current way of clearing dues is an injustice to the beneficiaries of the social justice department and the tribal welfare department, from where the funds are being reportedly transferred," said Pawar. Pawar said party supremo Sharad Pawar would spell out the party's agenda regarding contesting the civic polls during the forthcoming anniversary celebration of the party. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Scalable retail: Video analytics firm enables more traffic thanks to robust computing power - Google Cloud: Future of Infrastructure CIO | Google Cloud, AMD Undo Speaking on the undivided NCP and Shiv Sena, Rohit Pawar said that there were two brands – the first is the original and loved by people, and the second is artificially pumped up. "One brand is accepted, loved, and supported by the people and grows big, which has natural support, and the other brand is 'shown' big by 'pumping in money'. The other kind will not last longer," said the MLA. On the SIT announced by the state govt to investigate the seizure of Rs 1.84 crore cash allegedly related to the visit of the Estimates Committee in Dhule, Pawar claimed, "It will be fruitless. Many such teams were formed in the past on various issues with zero outcome. A judicial inquiry should be conducted into this matter to trace the movement of money." He said that the Maharashtra State Commission for Women was an autonomous body and hence there should be an apolitical appointment to the body. The person could be primarily be a retired person with judiciary background or a very senior retired bureaucrat. This demand will be raised during the upcoming session, said Pawar.
