Google Pay Integrates ShopeePay, TNG eWallet In Malaysia – First For Southeast Asia
Google has launched its first-ever eWallet integration in Southeast Asia by enabling ShopeePay and TNG eWallet (an Alipay+ Partner) as payment options via Google Pay in Malaysia.
Android users in the country can now make payments using their preferred eWallets when shopping on mobile websites via Google Chrome, starting with selected online merchants.
'With 88% of Malaysians using eWallets in 2024, this Google Pay integration helps make online payments more convenient and secure,' the company said in a statement.

Qureshi, Country Director, Google Malaysia, said, 'We are excited to bring this new Google Pay feature first to Malaysia, a market with a thriving digital payment landscape and a strong appetite for eWallet adoption. By integrating with trusted local platforms like ShopeePay and TNG eWallet, we are localising Google Pay to match their everyday payment preferences, and delivering a frictionless and secure manner when shopping on their favourite mobile sites on Google Chrome. As the first market in the region to offer this integration, Malaysia also has the potential to set a new standard for digital payment innovation across Southeast Asia.'
Participating merchants include Nando's, US Pizza via Fiuu, and Alpro Pharmacy, TK Bakery, Yoyo Bus via iPay88.
Users can now: Checkout with ShopeePay or TNG eWallet directly via Google Pay on Chrome.
Top-up eWallets through Google Pay and soon view balances.
Perform one-time verification for first payments, enabling future one-click transactions.
