Move to embolden cyber security in State
The Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB), on Thursday, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance threat detection tools and response capabilities. The deal brought together global technology and cyber defence partners. Under the terms of the pact, Google will deploy its cloud-based Security Operations Centre (SOC) platform, Google SecOps, through Ilois Digital, an authorised implementation partner of Google Cloud India Private Limited. The State does not need to fund the initiative. The SecOps platform will provide round-the-clock threat monitoring and response, using real-time network data and advanced analytics to flag and address malicious cyber incidents. Data security firm Arete IR LLP will offer Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) services, including SentinelOne EDR solution, to Police's IT infrastructure. The EDR solution is expected to significantly improve endpoint-level security by delivering continuous monitoring, detection, and incident response services. 'This is a step in proactively identifying and neutralising malicious security threats, and strengthening Telangana Police's cyber defence capabilities,' said Director of TGCSB Shikha Goel, while signing the MoU. The partnership will be operative for a period of three years and also includes provisions for training police personnel in managing and responding to cyber security threats. Key stake-holders from both public and private sectors attended the signing of deal.
