Katrina Gorry has become the second Matildas player in a week to say 'I do', marrying longtime partner Clara Markstedt on Hamilton Island. The pair tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony on Saturday, just days after Matildas star Ellie Carpenter and fellow footballer Danielle van de Donk said their vows in France. West Ham United Women posted a photo of Gorry and Markstedt at the alter, which was covered in seasonal flowers with the backdrop of the stunning Whitsundays. 'Congratulations to the most gorgeous newlyweds, Mini & Clara. We're not sobbing, you are,' West Ham wrote. Gorry's daughter Harper was the flower girl for the ceremony. Harper was born to Gorry as a solo mum just before the couple met in 2022 while playing football in Sweden. Markstedt, who is Swedish, retired from a decorated football career in 2023, having played 275 games for four clubs across 14 years in Sweden's top-division league. Markstedt gave birth to their son, Koby, in 2024, 12 months after their enagement. Earlier, Carpenter was granted personal leave from the past Matildas window to prepare for her wedding. 'I choose you, I will always choose you,' Carpenter wrote alongside the two images. Carpenter and van Donk wore traditional white dresses with Carpenter having a lengthy vail. Carpenter and van de Donk met while playing for French side Olympique Lyonnais. The Aussie gun joined the club in 2020 with the Dutch midfielder joining the following the year. They began a couple in 2022 before announcing their engagement early last year. Olympique Lyonnais continued their domination of the French league, winning their fourth straight title and 18th from the past 19 years. Carpenter has been an influential player for the French side, playing 126 games since joining the club. She is also a mainstay of the Matildas side, already racking up 87 senior appearances and going to three Olympics.

Code Sports reports Gorry met Markstedt while playing football in Sweden in 2022. Photos shared on Instagram showed the adorable couple standing at the top of an aisle in white gowns. Gorry stole the show in a daring two-piece ensemble while Markstedt sported a more traditional look. The pair celebrated their big moment in front of an intimate crowd, photos show. The couple have also shared snaps of their post-nuptials photo shoot with Gorry showing off her athlete's physique in a plunging, revealing outfit. The shoreline shoot also showed the loved-up couple having a smooch. As reported by Code Sports, Gorry is the second Matildas' player to marry this week with Ellie Carpenter marrying Danielle van de Donk last weekend at an elaborate celebration in France. The couple, who went with public with their relationship in 2023, announced their engagement in January 2024. Carpenter, 25, took personal leave from the last Matildas window to put the finishing touches on the wedding. Matildas teammate Teagan Micah was part of the wedding party - making a quick trip to France after helping the Matildas beat Argentina earlier this month. Carpenter took to Instagram on Wednesday night to share two photos of the happy couple with the caption 'I choose you. I always choose you.' Both wore traditional white gowns.
