Mohali Meritorious School excels in PSEB Class 12 results, 11 students on merit list
The Government Meritorious School, Sector 70, Mohali, has achieved a milestone in the Class 12 results declared Wednesday by the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB).
A total of 11 students from the school have secured places on the state merit list, marking a record performance for the district.
Remarkably, no other government or private school in Mohali finds a slot on the merit list.
Topping the district chart is Mehak Sharma, a Non-Medical stream student from Takhatgarh village in Ropar district, who scored 497 out of 500, earning third rank across Punjab. She secured 99 marks each in Punjabi, English, and Chemistry, and a perfect 100 in Physics and Mathematics.
Mehak's father, a postman at Bharatgarh Post Office, expressed pride in her achievement. 'Our daughter has brought glory to the entire village of Takhatgarh. Her brother is in the Indian Navy, and Mehak dreams of joining the NDA,' he told The Indian Express.
Joining her on the merit list is Bhavana, a Non-Medical student from Tibba Nangal village, Ropar. Her father, Har Vilas, an LIC agent, said she had shown exceptional performance, especially in Physics.
Mahakpreet Kaur from Bhaini Sahib village in Ludhiana also made an impact with 100 marks in Maths and English, and 99 in Punjabi. Her father, a professional photographer, said: 'She is the eldest daughter in the family, and we believe she will make the country proud.'
Principal applauds team effort
Principal Ritu Sharma credited the success to collective dedication. 'Having 11 students on the state merit list reflects the hard work of our staff, students, and the unwavering support from parents. They trusted our academic guidance completely.'
She also highlighted that 28 students from the school had qualified for JEE Mains last year, proving the institution's academic excellence.
Mohali Meritorious School Students on the merit list are Mehak Sharma (Non-Medical), Bhavana (Non-Medical), Mahakpreet Kaur (Non-Medical), Dheeraj Chaudhary (Commerce, Punjab Rank 10), Payal (Medical, Rank 11), Vinayak Kumar Gond (Non-Medical, Rank 11), Kundan (Non-Medical, Rank 12), Antarjot Singh (Non-Medical, Rank 13), Habib (Commerce, Rank 13), Ritu (Commerce, Rank 14) and Suneha (Medical, Rank 14) These students come from different parts of Punjab but currently study at the Government Meritorious School, Sector 70, Mohali.
Two more district students excel
Apart from the 11 from Meritorious School, Sudhanshu Tiwari, from Government School Lalru, ranked 13th in Non-Medical stream, and Mansi Joshi, from Government School Khizrabad, ranked 14th in Commerce stream.
Poor show by private schools
No private school affiliated with PSEB in Mohali could secure a position in the state merit list this year
