SSB foils liquor smuggling bid in Madhubani, 1 held
Madhubani: The 48th Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Jaynagar, foiled a
liquor smuggling
attempt along the India-Nepal border and arrested a person in this connection on Friday night.
"SSB's Gangaur border outpost team conducted raids around 8.23pm near border pillar no. 289/24, approximately 800 meters from the international boundary. The SSB team intercepted a smuggler transporting illicit liquor on a bike from Nepal into India. They seized 120 bottles of local

(300ml) and 48 cans of beer of two different brands," said Commandant Govind Singh Bhandari today.
The smuggler, identified as 40-year-old Vijay Yadav and a resident of Gangaur village in Madhubani district, was apprehended on the spot. The accused was handed over to the Harlakhi police station for further legal action, Bhandari said, adding that the SSB team also seized a motorcycle used in the smuggling operation.
