Wreck claims one life, injures two in Young County
YOUNG COUNTY (KFDX/KJTL) — A two-vehicle wreck in Young County leaves one dead and two injured.
Just before 1 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2025, authorities responded to a wreck on FM 209 about a mile and a half east of Murray between a motorcycle and a pickup.
According to Texas DPS Sergeant Juan Gutierrez, the motorcyclist was northbound on FM 209 and the driver of a Chevrolet Silverado was southbound.
Gutierrez reported the motorcyclist failed to follow the curve of the road causing the rider to strike the truck head-on.
The motorcyclist was identified as 27-year-old Joshua Hoffman from Fort Worth and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Hoffman was found not wearing a helmet, according to Gutierrez.
The driver and passenger of the truck were both taken to Graham Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash currently remains under investigation.
