Crews put out basement fire on Everett Avenue in Belchertown
BELCHERTOWN, Mass. (WWLP) – The Belchertown Fire Department was sent to a building fire Thursday night.

At 10:55 p.m. on Thursday, crews were sent to a report of a building fire at 41 Everett Avenue. When crews arrived, heavy smoke was found in the basement mechanical area. The fire was upgraded to a working fire, and mutual aid from Amherst, Palmer, and Granby Fire Departments were called in to assist.
The fire was put out, and all occupants were allowed back in the building at 1:30 a.m. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Belchertown Police Department, the Massachusetts State Police Fire Investigation Unit, and the Belchertown Fire Department.
