John Stamos Drums Along to Papa Roach's 'Last Resort' While Hearing It For The First Time Ever — Watch!
Somehow John Stamos went decades without hearing "Last Resort" by Papa Roach.
The Full House star participated in the YouTube channel Drumeo's "For The First Time" challenge with host Brandon Toews dropping by Stamos' house, where he had a full drum kit already.
For the video series, Stamos, 61, performed the drums on Papa Roach's 2003 hit song in the Friday, April 25 video — without ever hearing the song before.

"I would tell every drummer that ever gets a chance to do this, don't," Stamos joked at the start of the clip.
The You actor has been drumming for years and has performed with The Beach Boys along with other musicians, including B.B. King, Tom Jones, John Fogerty and Bruce Springsteen.
For the musical challenge, Toews played "Last Resort" for Stamos with the drum part removed, giving him a chance to improvise on his own.
After attempting to figure out the drum parts of "Last Resort," which Stamos guessed was a "pretty heavy metal kind of vibe," his wife Caitlin McHugh and son Billy walked through, covering their ears with their hands.
Stamos' second and third takes slowly improved, where he had a better understanding of the nuances within the song. After his final take, covered in sweat from the vigorous drumming, the Grandfathered actor asked if the song was Ozzy Osbourne.
Stamos then heard the version with the drums included and learned who actually played it — David Buckner of Papa Roach. Toews told Stamos that a lot of his drumming was similar to the actual song's beat.

"I think I barely lived through it," Stamos concluded. "I haven't heard me play it yet so I don't know about that. But I survived."
Fans were excited to see Stamos take on the challenge. "Never in my 32 years on earth did I ever expect I'd watch a video of John Stamos playing Papa Roach on drums," one fan said on YouTube.
"It's f------ insane how good drummers almost always find something insanely close to the original song," a second wrote.
"Personally i don't think it's fair that John Stamos is this talented AND handsome. Really couldn't have the decency to be only one," someone else teased.
Another agreed: "The wife coming through passively complaining about the noise and how long the activity has been going relatable."

This isn't the first time Stamos showed off his drumming skills. In July 2024, the actor and his son, Billy, played the drums with the Beach Boys for the band's Endless Summer Gold 2024 Tour stop in Michigan.
"Had a little help from my son BILLY on good vibrations last night," he captioned the Instagram video. "Wasn't it nice! @thebeachboys."
