Dordt wins second consecutive GPAC Title with 77-54 win over Briar Cliff
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (Courtesy of the GPAC) – The top seed Dordt jumped out to an early lead and cruised to the championship the 2025 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Women's Basketball Tournament over three seed Briar Cliff 77-54 on Tuesday night in Sioux Center, Iowa.
Both Dordt and Briar Cliff have secured automatic berths in the NAIA National Tournament because of top seed, and regular season champion, Dordt reached the title game.
Macy Sievers led the Defenders with a triple double, scoring 15 points, dishing out 12 assists and grabbing 11 rebounds. She was one of three Dordt players to reached double digits in scoring, with Olivia Harazin scoring 14 and Willow Bleeker 11.
Kennedy Benne was the only player to reach double figures for Briar Cliff, finishing the game with 11 points.
Top seed Dordt reached the final with semifinal win at home over #4 Hastings 80-73, while three seed Briar Cliff won at two seed Dakota Wesleyan 62-56.
64 teams will make the NAIA Women's Basketball Postseason this year. Games will be played at First and Second Round Sites on March 14-15 (four team pods). The 16 opening round winners will play in the NAIA Women's Basketball National Championship is set for March 20-25, 2025, in Sioux City, Iowa, at the Tyson Events Center.
