'Mystery Actor' on Set of 'Avengers: Doomsday' Sent Marvel Fans Into a Frenzy
The latest tease for the upcoming 2026 film Avengers: Doomsday features an unknown identity of one star reportedly featured in the movie. While a lengthy list of names has already been released following a nearly six-hour livestream event, the widespread belief is that more stars in the film have remained under wraps.
Whether the "mystery actor" is a name already known or one that hasn't yet surfaced, the photo revealed by MCU Film News sent fans into a wild run of speculation.
The guesses about who the character/actor was began running rampant, with some fans even attempting to estimate his height in comparison to the door he's seen standing next to.
Some fans were dead set on the belief that the man in this photo is Robert Downey Jr., but others argued with very different names.
"it's very clearly RDJ," said one fan.
'RDJ.. Green & Gold door.. Doom," read another response.
"nobody thinks it's tom holland? just me? aight," said another.
"Am i the only one thinking that is tom holland?" replied another fan.
"It looks like @TomCruise to be honest. Maybe a Tony Stark variant," read another comment.
"Is that Tom Cruise??" responded another fan.
"That's Tom Hiddleston." declared another fan.
A few of the other names tossed out by fans included James Marsden, Nathan Fillion, Christian Bale, Hugh Jackman, Michael Fassbender and Charlie Cox, among others.
